Success is not a race, be patient. Success leads to success. Success is always a work in progress. Success doesn't come to you--you go to it. Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process. Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying. Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED! If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

I've been ordering kits from my grocery delivery that has everything in it to make fantastic guacamole. Once a week, I make a lovely batch, and my son and I treat ourselves!

When I started to study while having a full-time job at the same time, I allowed my appetite and my body to do whatever they wanted as my mind was occupied with gathering knowledge. Meanwhile my body gathered fat.
One day I got on a scale and hated the result more than usual. So it's either ending up with wobbly body parts or feeling good about myself.

http://anotherfatguy.wordpress.com/ I'm looking at a total weight loss of over 130 lbs (60 kg for those of you in Europe like me...), from 150 kg to 90 kg (330 lbs to 198 lbs). I'm a 36 year old man and am REALLY tired of... well being tired.
So far I've been training like a mofo, and have totally revisited my diet - so far so good, 1/3 of my goal HAS been met - YIPPEE!!
Have met some great people here, and looking forward to meeting even more here on traineo - don't be afraid to bombard me with motivation - I'll take all you can give me :)

Raw mushrooms (champignons de paris) dipped in fromage frais 0.1%. I can't seem to get enough of them lately.
For protein, it's lamb. Our supermarket always has a stock of extra-super-lean lamb that really tastes GOOD oven-roasted with a dumpload of garlic and oregano on top

Fish! Since I've started exercising properly (about a year ago), I've craved no other food so much! I have 5 mackerel in the freezer and am defrosting one for this evening's meal... yum!
(I didn't ever really used to like fish that much even... very odd...)

It's not really food, per se, and this also ties into that thread regarding feeling cold--but I've been right into making ginger root infusions lately.
Chop up a nub of fresh ginger, add to boiling water then simmer gentley for about 10 minutes, strain and enjoy the warming tingley-ness. I also add a squeeze of ginger juice using my garlic press when I want an extra kick.
It's healthful benefits are many, (including, ladies, relieving menstrual cramps as its anti-inflammatory properties are notable), and---I just likey.

I make homemade ginger ale and LOVE it. You can mess around with the level of sugar but you do need some for the yeast.
Plus if you leave it for a while, properly venting it, you'll get a REAL ale.

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Zucchini...
I never used to like it before, and I'm not sure why I've embraced it now, but I really like it now and put it in almost everything. Muffins, pasta sauce, stir frys...you name it & I've probably put it in there! lol
My favourite is to marinate it in some Bragg's Liquid Aminos (tastes like soy sauce) with garlic & a touch of sesame oil and then broil it. Toss some toasted sesame seeds on top and YUMMM

Instead of leaving it at room temperature for 24-48 hours, you leave it for a week or so until more of the sugar is used up by the yeast (producing more alcohol). However, you MUST unscrew the cap and let the air out at least once a day after the first 24-48 hours or it WILL explode and you'll find sugary sticky ginger pieces for decades.
If you try, it remember, there is no "forgetting" to release the pressure. If you forget, it WILL explode, not MIGHT, WILL and it's a mess and if you're near it, it could hurt.

Thanks for reminding me of this -- I came down with a sore throat last night and this would probably help (along with the warm salt gargles).
We call this salabat. I have to explain to friends here that ginger powder just doesn't work -- it has to be fresh ginger root. The pins and needles feeling takes some getting used to.
A nice side effect is your sweat smells nice for a day or so. Chrysanthemum tea has a similar effect.

I love to eat. Carbs is my weakness link that I always lose control in front of it.
I started running for fitness in 2007. Ever since I finished the 1st marathon (San Diego RnR 2007), I am addicted to running.
I started traineoing in Nov 2007. I have reached my goal weight in Jun 08 already. But, now, I don't care much about my weight. I care about it only if it affects my running performance.

Chocolate chip cookies have always been my downfall, especially oatmeal with chocolate chips. So I tried the Kashi Oatmeal Dark Chocolate cookie, and I have come to like them a LOT. It's not something you should eat all the time, even though it's a gazillion times healthier than a regular cookie, but it's a great treat!

I've always been bigger. Maybe not classified as being fat because I carry it pretty well. But, well, I'm fat. There's no fooling myself. In January, months of hard work paid off as my wife got pregnant with what will be our first child. I had been exercising a bit until that point, but I decided to ramp it up a notch and get my weight to where I can be healthy and be around a long time for my wife and kid.
I've been known to drop 40-50 pounds in 5 months or so on a few occasions, only to slowly gain that weight back over a couple years. This time is different. I know everybody says that and usually that statement doesn't come to fruit, but I've got that incentive...becoming a daddy.
Got a blog rolling- rokandroll.blogspot.com
I post on it a few times a week. Mostly fitness stuff. I try to be somewhat humorous. Check it out if you're REALLY bored.

Asparagus rubbed with olive oil, lightly salted with the "big salt" and baked for about 10 minutes. It keeps quite a bit of it's crunch.
Oh, and Cadbury Eggs.

Cadbury Mini Eggs... has anyone tried the poppin' kind? Yummy!!! Now, if I could somehow eat them, and then have the calories in them disappear...
Fruit is my other salvation right now - kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, grapes.... got a small thing of raspberries today which are my favorite.
I had been keeping small container of grapes frozen in the freezer, which make an awesome snack since you have to eat them slowly to avoid brain-freeze.
