I'm a plant enthusiast dedicated to eating whole, fresh foods. As for exercise, I regularly participate in: swimming, water aerobics, yoga, the elliptical machine, the stair stepper, running, and weight training. I try to switch up my routine a lot so that I don't get bored. My biggest obstacle to weight loss is eating when I'm lonely or sad, but I've started keeping a list on my fridge of other things I can do to occupy my time. So far it's really been helping!
Aside from health and fitness, I was married in December 2007 and am enjoying being married and decorating our apartment. I am currently finishing my last semester as an undergraduate, and hope to begin an English MA program Fall 2009. I love reading, quilting, cooking, hiking, swimming, decorating, gardening, and striving to protect the environment. I'm also really pleased that Barack Obama is going to be our next president.
Let me know if you need a motivator! Good luck in your health and fitness efforts!

I usually eat oatmeal for breakfast, with a little cinnamon and applesauce mixed in, and sometimes a bit of honey. MMMM.
But I'm also usually hungry about 2-3 hours later.
Not today!
I also scrambled up a couple of egg whites, and the protein has made such a huge difference! I don't think I'll want my morning snack for another hour or two.
So I'm a proponent of protein in the morning.

My usual breakfast means Rice Krispies with a scoop of protein powder thrown on top. It's actually pretty good. Chocoloate flavored cereal.

I am a student in university so we all know what that means....
The freshmen 15 increased to 50, but that was over 4 years. I finally made it to the gym at the end of September and haven't looked back.
23 pounds down, 27 to go.

I have a cup and a half of yogurt (basically a bowl full). I am always full until lunch.
Plus Source has apple crumble yogurt for the same amount of calories and it is AMAZING! It's like a treat but not!

I'm a Co-Host of the Internet Radio Show and Podcast called "Fat 2 Fit Radio". I've struggled with my weight most of my life, but now my weight is fairly stable and I'm looking to finally get a 6-pack!

You can't go wrong with oatmeal and eggs! Just make sure its not the packaged oatmeal.
I cook 10 breakfasts at once and they keep fine in the fridge. This is my 325 calorie breakfast:
1 serving Quaker Quick Oats with Splenda
6 Egg Whites
1 Whole egg (eggs are scrambled with sliced mushrooms etc)
Ketchup
It is a good full pound of food in the morning and is very filling. I just throw it in the microwave to heat up and I mix it all together. It sounds gross, but I found that I just can't eat plain oatmeal by itself.
Every 10 days or so, I cook up a big batch in under an hour. If I run out, I usually end up grabbing an Egg McMuffin for around 300 calories, but I'm usually hungry an hour and a half later.

protein definitely makes a difference...when i'd make my breakfast smoothie w/o soymilk, i'd be hungry within a few hours. but, if i make it WITH soymilk i'm not hungry til after 1pm (breakfast is usually between 8 & 9)

i eat protein with every meal. it helps keep me satiated.
jeff- i use the packaged oatmeal without sugar. is anything wrong with that? i buy it from wholefoods and it is either the plain or flax and oats kind.

I love to eat. Carbs is my weakness link that I always lose control in front of it.
I started running for fitness in 2007. Ever since I finished the 1st marathon (San Diego RnR 2007), I am addicted to running.
I started traineoing in Nov 2007. I have reached my goal weight in Jun 08 already. But, now, I don't care much about my weight. I care about it only if it affects my running performance.

Jeff, I thought Splenda is not a good thing.
