I hope to have a bikini body for this summer.
I was more fit when I was back in college. (which was 2 years ago)
I'm stuck in this cycle of the YO YO diet. I'll work out and eat right for six months then it all goes down hill for the rest of the year.
So one day I googled a fitness support group and came upon traineo. I'm glad I did!

Last night I was hanging out with a couple of my girlfriends when we were picking out a place to eat. They really wanted Inn n Out burgers, but Inn n Out's menu is very limited....burger, Fries, soda and shakes. So it lead to temptation and I ended up eating a cheeseburger.
what should I do in a situation like this?
How do I balance diet and friends?

I'm a plant enthusiast dedicated to eating whole, fresh foods. As for exercise, I regularly participate in: swimming, water aerobics, yoga, the elliptical machine, the stair stepper, running, and weight training. I try to switch up my routine a lot so that I don't get bored. My biggest obstacle to weight loss is eating when I'm lonely or sad, but I've started keeping a list on my fridge of other things I can do to occupy my time. So far it's really been helping!
Aside from health and fitness, I was married in December 2007 and am enjoying being married and decorating our apartment. I am currently finishing my last semester as an undergraduate, and hope to begin an English MA program Fall 2009. I love reading, quilting, cooking, hiking, swimming, decorating, gardening, and striving to protect the environment. I'm also really pleased that Barack Obama is going to be our next president.
Let me know if you need a motivator! Good luck in your health and fitness efforts!

That's a hard one. Did you tell them that you're trying to lose weight, and that you're on a diet? Perhaps they'd be more inclined to eat someplace with burgers and healthier fare (like Applebee's or something). Or, maybe they could get their "bad" food as takeout, you could grab something else, and then have a picnic or go to someone's house.

I am a slow runner, decent snowboarder, and aim for wiisports rookie of the year. I have strong legs, eastern european calves, and like to lift things my boyfriend thinks I can't. A busy and constantly changing schedule make it hard to get into and stay in a workout routine. I'm a crusader for medical scientific truth in nutrition and weight loss discussions and I heart fiber.

eat a giant bowl of frozen veggies first. it does minimize the damage. grab a small burger and diet soda, and talk more than eat

Success is not a race, be patient. Success leads to success. Success is always a work in progress. Success doesn't come to you--you go to it. Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process. Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying. Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED! If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

I agree with vera..it isn't one burger that makes you overweight...glad you enjoyed the burger ;) it isn't a problem as long as it doesn't become a habit!
Keep on keeping on Noonie

Yep, as long as you don't let this spiral out of control then you will be fine!
One burger may set you off momentarily, but you will be right back on track soon. A few more burgers and you start to derail all of your efforts (this is what has killed me lately).
One and done. You are fine! Hope you enjoyed it.

yah, sometimes there's nothing to be done. the worst are relatives who act offended if you don't stuff your face. ah, good ole southern culture! "Have some more bacon grease with those pancakes!"

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Though one burger won't hurt, friends that don't try to work with you can be a problem... Perhaps suggesting a diner next time? They usually have a ton of choices, burgers and healthy meals included (and even the burgers are probably better for you than In & Out)...
