On Jan 1st when I first started, I set aside 10 pounds as a goal for each month. Well here it is, January 28th and I have lost only 7 lbs. 3 more weigh-ins to hit 3 more pounds. If I would have focused more my first 2 weeks I would have crushed the 10 lb barrier. But oh well, I am going to hit it either way. Looks like I will be in the gym until Thursday!

Hey Rob - 7 lbs is already a GREAT number - keep up the good work and I'm SURE you'll start loving the scale real quick!

Yeah Rob, realize that maybe your expectations were high and those seven pounds is your ideal speed and relax. I usually loose between four to six pounds a month and now I force myself little higher or lower depending of the feeling.

Way to go!!

10lbs a month is a HUGE target and 7lbs is a cracking result. We're all here for the long haul so although I want results yesterday as well as you do, it isn't always part of the bigger plan.

Agreed, 7 lbs is 1.6 per week (4.2 weeks per month), which is a very good rate. It's hard to lose much more than a pound of fat per week. If you start losing too fast, there's a good chance that some of it's muscle.

After my 2 pound loss over the last day, I only need 1 more pound in the next two weigh-ins.

I know it is not a race but sticking with 10 lbs a month will keep me very motivated.

The women at the gym told me the scale changes everyday.

Don't get caught up in weight. Thinking about inches, muscles you are gaining, maybe retaining water that day its not just about weight.

7 lbs is awesome. I recently lost 9 this month more than I planned. You just can't let yourself get discouraged. Any weight lost is a great start!
