Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 240, 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195, 190
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.

I need some suggestions for breakfast.
I've been eating oatmeal for the past month, but my stomach isn't too happy with it. I always feel like I should audition for a pepto bismol commercial after I eat it.
I'm thinking of switching to cold cereal with lactose free low-fat milk. With some sort of fruit maybe.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

the incredible, edible, egg! 4 whites & 1 whole egg makes an awesome omelete. Throw in some lean meat, veggies, 2% cheese - there are a lot of options to keep it interesting.

I have started two new blogs, one to follow my running and a Quest to a Marathon at blog.262quest.com and one to follow my weight loss at blog.2big.org, please check them out.
I am an IT professional / Developer which means I sit in front of a computer most of the day. This means very little exercise and plenty of time to eat.
I decided at the first of the year that I was going to lose weight. I started by changing my eating habits and started walking.
I did so for about a month and then added some weight lifting and started to run a little bit.
I have so far lost 29 lbs in just over 3 months and would like to lose just over another 50 lbs by the end of the year.
I have started running quite a bit more and am training to run the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th (10k)
I need all the encouragement I can get because to do this I am getting up every morning during the week at 4:30 to go running. With a wife and kids this is really the only time that I can consistently do what I need to do.
I am driven, but at times get a bit discouraged because I don't have anybody to work out with or run with.
All in All, I know I can do it, I just have to remember that when I don't do so well, it is in the past and what matters is going forward.

I eat a mixture of cold cereal, toast, oatmeal, eggs, turkey sausage, and usually my whey protein shake. Sometimes I even eat some leftovers from dinner the previous night
I am pretty boring though, I just try something different once I get bored. My usual breakfast is whey protein shake, Total or Bran, or Fiber One Cereal, and whole wheat toast. I change it up to the other stuff I mentioned above about once or twice every couple weeks.

cardio-are you having the oatmeal alone? if you are having it with fruit beano might help your stomach and if you are using milk lactaid pills might help your stomach or you could try soy milk or use the lactaid milk like you said. you could buy both at the grocery store.

I think I'm gonna try the Kashi cereal for a couple weeks with my lactaid milk. It looks DEELISH and has plenty of protein and fiber. Woohoo!
New Me - Those lactaid pills are too strong for me. They make me upchuck

I love to eat. Carbs is my weakness link that I always lose control in front of it.
I started running for fitness in 2007. Ever since I finished the 1st marathon (San Diego RnR 2007), I am addicted to running.
I started traineoing in Nov 2007. I have reached my goal weight in Jun 08 already. But, now, I don't care much about my weight. I care about it only if it affects my running performance.

instead of milk, you can try soy milk. I personally like the "lighter" taste of pure soy milk that has no sugar, chocolate or any other added favor. I may drop in some blue berry or raspberry if they are in seasons.
If you feel bored with it every day, try different kind of food for breakfast. Eating should be an enjoyable experience. You can try alternate breakfast with toast, egg etc.
