Just a fatty from the midwest US who has put off getting fit for far too long. It's time to change that!

Let me start by saying I love salads, and I thoroughly enjoy vegetables. BUT, if I eat too much, the veggies and/or salad goes right through me, and my BM's are messed up for a couple days.
I'd love to get back to being able to eat this healthier stuff, but I gotta figure out how to get my body to stand it.

Maybe find a way to weigh down your salads. Instead of eating just a green salad, add a small peice of grilled chicken breast. Instead of just eating a cucumber and tomato salad add some low fat nuts or lean grilled beef.
It's not going to hurt you to try (unless you have allergies), and i have a feeling it'll work wonders.

I'm definitely not allergic to any of that stuff. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

I enjoy working out b/c it makes me feel good about myself and gives me energy! Exercise nutrition are very important to my husband and I as we've both been athletes for as far back as we remember. Having a desk job sure makes staying in shape tough though!

over time, your body will get used to it! your body is going through somewhat of a cleansing probably. If it's not used to these foods, it might seem like they're going through you, but that's a good thing! 1 - you can eat more salads than you can other foods b/c they're typically very low in calories (load it up with those vegetables!!) 2 - the "roughage" is cleaning out all that impacted waste from the bad foods in your system (fast food, fried foods, red meat)
to help bulk salads up, add avocado (good fat!), dried cranberries or someother dried fruit (make sure there's no added or not a lot of added sugar though), and make sure your lettuce is heartier than iceberg (use romaine, mixed greens, spinach, etc...)....as Chris said, low fat nuts too - pinenuts go great w/salads!

I have been looking at alot of those body cleansing things they sell on tv. Do they really work? I have maybe 1 bm every 2-3 days. Does switching your diet to fuits and veggies work? Is there something i can do to make myself regular? I have had a ton of fast food in the past.

I have been using Juice Plus as a cleansing product (I got them through a fitness center I was going to but Juice Plus has a website and you can get them there). These are capsules that are basically fruits and vegetables that are ground into powder form and contain all of the vitamins and nutrients you need from the fruits and vegetables. There are a couple of different formulas. I take 2 of the Garden Blend capsules in the morning with breakfast and 2 of the Orchard Blend capsules with dinner and they seem to help with the cleansing process and I feel better as well.

My husband's gym actually sells JuicePlus+ and YES - it works! You can contact me if you wish to find out more - we would be happy to send you some information, even a powerpoint. JuicePlus+ does help you to become more regular BECAUSE it contains whole food nutrition, not just fractionated vitamins. I was in the same irregular boat as James, but now, it's quite regular - usually 2x/day. Eating more fruits and vegetables does help cleanse the body out, but it takes a while and you have to patient. My husband and I are both on JuicePlus+ and we try to also eat about 4-5 servings of fruits/veggies each day, but JuicePlus+ gives us 17 different fruits/veggies/grains in a total of 4 capsules/day. This helps us get all the necessary phyto-nutrients we need. We haven't been sick once since starting this addition to our diet! Please contact me if you would like more information! kjudd21@mac.com

I love the feeling I get after I eat a nice salad...
Don't be feel too held back on adding stuff that will help your body get used to taking in thos veggies, since it's probably not used to it.
I usually like to add tuna salad or chicken salad...that makes everything come out nice haha.
Good luck. =)

I'm a typical stress eater, and I've been extremely stressed out for the past two years. Yeah, recipe for disaster! I can't say I look too bad, and the 22 fat kilos I want to lose to get back to my original weight do make me more curvaceous, but let's face it - it's just not who I am. To feel comfortable again, I definitely want to lose those extra kilos!
I'm mainly using Traineo to get some feedback, and to be able to keep track of my exercise. I only use the diet log sporadically, as the food itself isn't really my problem, but rather my notion of food as something that reduces stress.

James - try eating a LOT more fiber. Like whole wheat fiber+ crisp bread, and lots and lots of fruit. It definitely healps with digestion.
