Man, I love spinach. But am I crazy enough to eat it with the E. Coli running around, NO WAY! So for all of you spinach lovers out there like me, what is your substitute? What goes in your salads in place of spinach? Could some grees work? Like maybe mustard or collard greens?

You could always steam your spinach? Just a thought....! You could always try Pak Choi, or Collard greens, as you say... Brussel sprouts are also good, but not necessarily to everyones taste!

You may want to give Jamaican Calalloo a try. It's a green, leafy vegetable that looks kind of like spinach. It doesn't taste the same, of course, but depending on how you prepare it can taste great!
From what I recall, it's even more nutritious than spinach.
Look up some recipes on how to prepare it.

You can also try Mache (pronounced mosh), it has a mild, nutty flavour. that's what we're using instead right now. Although we always eat it raw.

I eat spinach on a daily basis, even with breakfast (on eggs) and on sandwiches instead of lettuce. I didn't slow down a beat during the e.coli thing. My understanding was it was just the commercially sold bags and I didn't twice about continuing my Popeye Diet and buying fresh organic spinach. The healthy foods market I buy from has removed most of it, but I was told there was nothing wrong other than the fact that consumers don't want it right now and as a business they had to appear to have taken a step.
I didn't really keep up with the story, but wasn't it just a dozen people who got sick, all of them in the same states? It really was off my radar along with Bird Flu and the coming Alien Invasion and Destruction Of Earth. I may have been a bit careless in some minds, but I was never hungry for spinach.
I am what I am.

This site helped me a lot when I needed to lose 30 lbs. Now my cats need to lose 2 lbs... I'm going to try to track them with custom logs, but they may end up joining traineo on their own!

Good news! The US government is allowing non-Californian spinach back in the stores. The paper said it will take a few days to re-appear on shelves.
Spinach is my favorite vegetable, but I threw out my bagged spinach (from a company on the quarantine list) when I heard about the e. Coli outbreak. If it had just been illness, I might have gambled. But not when death is involved.

I would like to reach a preliminary goal weight of 65kg and then assess my true goal weight. I've been slimmer than that but I'm working out a lot more these days and I know muscle weighs more than fat.

Bagged spinach is washed in chlorine and packed by illegal immigrants in sweatshop conditions - far better to get the old fashioned non-bagged kind and wash it yourself. No nasty ecoli then either.
Silverbeet / swiss chard is a good substitute for spinach but really needs to be cooked rather than eaten raw.
