I had my 22nd birthday yesterday, and I made it my mission to eat a ridiculous amount of crap, just to treat myself
Here's my 24 hr binge:
My diet yesterday was:
00:00 Large dominos pizza (2000 calories)
9am - 1pm: 20 mini flapjack bites, 300 grams of galaxy chocolate, 3 chocolate brownies, 1 litre of coke, 1 pack minstrels, 1 pack maltesers, 3 massive white chocolate/raspberry cookies, an orange juice (2500 calories)
130pm (japanese meal): plate of sushi, thai fishcakes, noodles, coke (1200 calories)
130pm - 330pm: More cakes, chocolate, 200gram bag of roasted salted peanuts, bla bla (1500 calories)
* 4 hour eating break apart from 1 scoop whey in guilt after playing squash * (100 calories)
Now the eating began....
CURRY at 8pm: 4 tandoori king prawns, 2 poppadums, large mushroom rice, large plain naan bread, lassi, 3 pints, chicken tikka makhani, my mates leftovers, cola bottles, sag aloo (2500 calories)
After curry, had 3 more pints, triple whisky, 2 tequilas, 2 lemonades (hmm... 800 calories?)
Calorie count for the day: 10600 calories, roughly, give or take a couple of thousand (mwahahahaha)
great birthday

I am a contractor for a monolithic IT firm. This translates into a lot of time spent sitting. I have always been a big guy, but I am tired of being obese so I am going to utilize the power of community to hold my feet to the fire to stay active.

Uffda ... to think that would have been close to my weekend eating habits prior to being convicted about my size and long term health!

I turn 23 in a month. Feeling very old. Not planning a binge on Nick's scale, although a drink or two may be in order! That's a fair bit of indian you had Nick - although the leftovers are always a neccesity when one is on a binge!

10600 = 3.03 lbs gained. if not offset by physical activity.
The trouble with celebration binges is that they can start to flow together very quickly... before you know it there is a celebration every weekend.

I had reached my goal weight a while back. Kids, surgery, work and inactivity brought it right back. I was feeling like crap, so I started over again.

This makes me nervous because I too turn 23 next month. Aside from the usual birthday 'drinking' festivities that I will undoubtedly be taking part of, my parents are flying in to take me to a fancy dinner. Should I be good and order something light like chicken or fish, or do you think I should cut loose and allow myself a nice, big, juicy steak?
It's just one night, right??

I would love to look hot in a bikini some time before I turn 30 (that's in 7 months!) Somebody help me!

If it was me, I'd order light. That way you won't feel guilty ordering something sweet (with a candle on top!).

i've always wanted to be healthy and in shape, but been too lazy to really do it...until now. something in me finally said: "hey cindy. it's time to get your shit together." so i did. and i feel great.
i am currently on hiatus from my studies at columbia university in new york city. i'm a sociology major and hope to do my thesis and graduate work on the complex relationship between humans and drugs. i hope, ultimately, to split my time between tenured professorship, musicianship, and mothership.

Nick,
In addition to an iron physique, you have an iron stomach! Happy birthday, in any event.
And I have to agree with Jeremiah ... reading all of this, I'm starting to feel really old!

Mathematics graduate, looking for direction in life... I think I've got it now.
I love cycling and am pretty good. However, with a heavy heart, I've had to swallow my pride and accept that I'm just too old to realise my aspirations of the professional ranks. My backup plan is to become a cioccolatere (in Italia)... So I'll be keeping my cycling-up, to avoid the consequences of a sweet-tooth! After all, I still have it in me to get into the upper echelons of the amateur ranks.

Yikes... That's my entire intake of food over a week in just one day. Hats off to you sir! I don't think I could eat that much without exploding: I tried carbo-loading once, but that was only around 5,000-6,000kcal and I could barely move.

Sigh. At 35, the days when I could eat like that and not suffer for a month are long gone. These days, a binge consists of one meal of fajitas and margaritas.
Happy belated birthday, Nick.

I really feel old in comparison to you'all (turned 50 a couple of months ago). I celebrated by doing a lot of eating like you Nick, but I spread the celebration out throughout the entire month.
Just read about you guys in the newspaper and decided to join in the fun.

I'm a typical stress eater, and I've been extremely stressed out for the past two years. Yeah, recipe for disaster! I can't say I look too bad, and the 22 fat kilos I want to lose to get back to my original weight do make me more curvaceous, but let's face it - it's just not who I am. To feel comfortable again, I definitely want to lose those extra kilos!
I'm mainly using Traineo to get some feedback, and to be able to keep track of my exercise. I only use the diet log sporadically, as the food itself isn't really my problem, but rather my notion of food as something that reduces stress.

Hehe, I should challenge you for my birthday. Only, 10500 calories is what I eat/WEEK nowadays, so I'm probably not in shape for that kind of binge anymore. But I promise to post what I do manage to pack away in March!
