I'm a longtime vegetarian with a wild schedule that doesn't leave me much time for myself. I'm always working to make more time for me.

I never did this, so I figured better late than never.
So, I'm 22 years old and I live in Anchorage, Alaska. I call it AK because shortening things to acronyms and abbreviations is just so cool. (I kid.)
I’ve lived here my entire life and that’s OK because soon I’ll move away and then miss it. Before I leave though, I’m driving to the Arctic Ocean because I want to pee in it. Gross? No. Super cool. I mean, how many people do you know that have peed in the Arctic Ocean. (Man I ramble.)
I work full-time at a local newspaper as a section editor, so I sit on my ass... constantly. I’m also finishing up in college (it takes longer when you work all the time) so I pretty much spend 80 percent of my life on my buttocks.
I’ve never been incredibly athletic, but there was a year right after high school where I actually enjoyed going to the gym. I’m working to get back to feeling healthy and trying some new sports. I’m happy either way, but being healthy is important if I want to live to be 215. I’m vegetarian and have been for... geez, four years now (where’d that time go?). I don’t really like meat, which is what fueled my decision, but I’m aware of the health benefits and animal rights and all that too.
I love to cook. And yes, even meat. I like to cook for everyone around me and I like to make creative, healthy meals that don’t taste like cardboard. Mmmm... cardboard.
My user name is Team Pilot Rabbitcraft which is the name of my household. It’s a long story (I’ll tell you anyway): We have two rabbits and when we got the first I asked for name suggestions from all of my friends. I couldn’t pick just one name, so he has like five names now. Pilot Rabbitcraft was one of the suggestions and it really stuck. When we’re feeling down, someone always asks, “what team is this?” the correct response is “Team Pilot Rabbitcraft.” The follow-up question is “And who’s team leader?” “Bunny.” There are other questions that are then made up to cheer up the person or motivate you. Was that story necessary? No, but you enjoyed it.
I’m involved in the Biggest Loser Challenge group, which is a total blast and you should do it too.
This is longer than I expected it would be. I promise I don’t talk like a Valley Girl, despite my use of the word “like” and random rants.

@Becky: Every time I see your profile pic I think it's a yak or cow or something. When I look at it I see it's you, but the way the brown of your hair and your skin color combine I see a cow. I know, I'm weird. Oh, and thanks.

My fitness regimen includes stationary cycling, light weight training and lots of walking around NYC. I'm a graduate of WeightWatchers and an enthusiastic advocate of its balanced approach to weight loss. I'm sure that I drink too much coffee and get too little sleep. :)
My goals are to maintain my weight in a healthy BMI/BF % range and forestall the toll of advancing age. :)
I think Traineo's established a great community and appreciate the support and information we share.
You'll find me elsewhere on the Web at http://claimid.com/nycinephile

I teach Prealgebra to 7th graders ... yeah they see the need to learn this stuff.
I am also married with three teenagers who have no illusions about the future and know that they have to work their butts off to get into the colleges of their choice. But mom is still just another extension of their lives. I'm running a little thin right now. Just not my weight.
My husband travels, but when he's home we like to ride motorcycles. Yeah!

@TPR: You're too funny. I'm also a vegetarian who cooks meat for the men in my family. My daughters decided to be veg like me. I grew up with several friends that moved to Alaska. One used to be a rep - Tom Brice. I would love to go some day. Keep posting.

Okay, on to diet number 5! This month: Neanderthin.
Previous loses are as follows: January, G I Lean ( 4.3kgs ); February, The Hacker's Diet ( 4.5kgs ); March, Johnson UpDayDownDay Diet ( 2.1kgs ); April, YOU: On A Diet ( 700g).
It seems all these diet switches are working. It appeals to my desire for novelty and means I can try diets I never would consider for the long-term. That, and I get to play around collecting data in spreadsheets - always a good thing if you need some work avoidance. Honestly, this is quite fun.

@NYCinephile: Thanks. No, I don't blog. I write over 12,000 words a week at work. I don't think I have the energy to blog after all of that.
