Hello everyone, my name is Grant, I'm from Wichita. I have been so unmotivated over the last year or so to work out and to eat healthy. I have been athletic my whole life and I would love to get down to my 195-200 weight that I enjoyed for so long. I'm not far, I'm currently at 221....but I work until 5:00 each night and then I don't want to be away from the kids (I have three) in the evenings. I started eating better this week and I've done good with that so far....I have cut out pop completely and I'm not eating any fried stuff. I try to have a sandwich and chips for lunch, then a sensible dinner....and no snacking. I have been quite hungry since starting this but I've done a good job saying no. I have not been able to get myself to the gym to do cardio, lift, or any exercise for that matter. I need to do this.....

I played baseball most of my life from 5 years old up to college. So I've never been really overweight, but over the last couple years I've felt that I've let my body go and I need help getting it back and staying fit.

Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Grant

Welcome!

Maybe morning exercise? I've never been a morning person but if you do it consistently it does become easier.

I used Simplefit to get back into shape after a long layoff. No more than 20 minutes a day but very intense. Great start-up program that gets results and builds up momentum.

Welcome, Grant! Part of the hungry thing is just going to be letting your stomach shrink (as in the actually stomach organ) especially if you've been eating a whole lot of big meals. One way to help avoid that is to eat several small meals throughout the day instead of just 3 big ones. I eat 6 meals or more per day. Another way is to make sure your food is loaded up with fiber. It's harder to digest so it stays in the stomach longer and keeps you feeling fuller longer.

Good luck!
