My intro:
5'6' - 143lbs

Goal: lose 15-18 lbs (125ish) / gain muscle and reduce hips, thighs

I grew up fairly healthily, and was always "dieting" though I was satisfied with how I looked. Now, after 4 years of college and constantly being surrounded by desserts (my weakness), I've been slowly gaining weight over this year (my senior year), despite half-hearted efforts to eat well and exercise. I had convinced myself that I was okay, though pants were getting tight and I had to stop wearing some of my clothes (thank goodness for skirts!). The week of finals/graduation was one of the most stressful weeks of my life, and the combination of not sleeping, snacking, and going out with my family didn't help a bit. After one of my aunts commented on my weight gain, I resolved that I had to do something about it, and stumbled upon traineo! Wish me luck, I'm hoping to lose at least 15 over the summer...

15lbs seems like an attainable goal to me. I'd say 2lbs a week is what you should aim for. Remember, the basic principal in losing fat is to eat less than your body burns, so it has to go into your fat stores and burn that. With that said, you should never "diet"; you should eat healthy and make it a lifestyle, not a "temporary diet". Also, you should do weights before cardio so that it depletes your glycogen stores so when you hit the treadmill you're burning pure fat. Oh, and welcome to Traineo!
