Hello all! I've been meaning to join Traineo for several weeks, but the best laid plans, you know?

I'm a 28 year old mom with a 25lb weight loss under my belt and the desire to lose about 45 more pounds in the next year or so. I've been focusing primarily on running and completed my first half marathon in February of this year. My weight loss has stalled though, and I know I need to step it up. I'm incorporating weights into my workouts and changing up my cardio.

So, hi everyone! I'm glad to be here and hope to make some new friends. I could do with some motivators, so if anyone is interested, I'd be grateful!

Welcome to traineo Jennifer. Congrats on running the marathon. I too used to do a lot of ellipticalling and lost some weight. Switched to running now and i love it. Feel free to add me as a motivator.

Welcome and good luk with the weights

I think if you stick with it you will find weights + cardio = better

Sher,

thanks so much! I sent you a message. I appreciate it.

Shawn,

Thanks! I've had some trouble finding a gym with childcare that isn't quite scary, so a gym is not in the cards for me right now. I've pulled out my dumbbells and am loving it. I totally agree weights + cardio is indeed way better.

Hi Jennifer! We sound pretty similar--I'm 26 and training for a 10 Miler at the moment. At the moment I only have about 15 pounds to go, but years ago I lost around 60 pounds. You can add me as a motivator if you'd like. But perhaps since you've already finished a half you'd be a better motivator for me!

Allison,

I would love that, thanks!

10 miles is a great distance. Runs between 6 and 10 miles are my absolute favorite.

When is your race?

It's in October so I have plenty of time. I ran it last year actually. My goal this year is to run the entire race (I walk about a mile and a half last year.) and improve on my time a bit.

I've got a 10K in a couple weeks though--should be interesting!

Hey Everyone!

I have been needing to lose some weight and stumbled upon this site and have realized it is a great motivator! I love seeing the change on 'paper'.
After having my daughter, it has been hard to get back to my previous weight and shape. Eventually I want to be back down to 125!
