I decided that it was time to kick off my next goal -- to get fit again. I haven't been what I would consider fit since I exited the Army almost 18 years ago to the day.

My goal is to lose 40 pounds, putting my goal weight at 185 -- what I weighed back in High School. I've never paid much attention to BMI -- if I were to reach my target weight based on BMI, I'd be nothing but skin and bones around 130 pounds!

Anyway... I want, or rather NEED, to make this more of a lifestyle change versus a quick goal. My plan is to start out slow, establish a routine that I can maintain and build from that.

Time to stop putting it off until "tomorrow." That day will never come -- I'd prefer to start referring to my start date as "yesterday" meaning I've begun. No more procrastination.

Heh... now let's see if my actions speak as loud as my words.

We're here to help Kevin Devin Hehe. Is that a nickname or did your parents really give you a rhyming name?

Anyways, traineo is a great place with extremely knowledgeable and friendly people. Stay active and it will really help with motivation. Good luck!!!

Oh, and yes BMI is dumb. Use body fat %.

Thanks Rachael!

No... not a nickname -- that's my true name. Easy to remember, that's for sure.

Welcome Kevin Devin. I think you can totally lose 40 pounds. I'm on a quest to lose the same amount!

I'll support you in your journey for sure.

BMI = foolishness. BUT, it is nice when it doesn't say you're obese...
Bodyfat % is the way to go
