Hi everyone!

My name is Stina, I'm somewhere between 5"'8" and 5'9", big frame (the greek in me) and want to go back to my old weight of 145 pounds (currently 220 right now)! The weird thing is, I don't look 220. People look at me and guess I am about 140-160 pounds.
I did a lot of strength training and wonder if a lot of my fat turned to muscle and thats why i weigh so much (I was 205 when I started the strength training). Nevertheless, I am not going to completely use the excuse of "its just muscle" , I noticed I did gain a lot after I got married and moved to the USA two years ago.

Anyway, I enjoy doing yoga and playing my Wii and would love to feel good this summer in a bathing suit! My goal is to lose 30 by July 13th, when I go back to visit my mom in Canada.... is that realistic? I want to do this the healthy way. Done the quick fix diets (atkins, thats how I got to 145, stayed at that weight for a year and then slowly the weight came back) and I know that will take more time.

Of course, the moment I decide to do this and get all excited and ready to go I get the flu... so lets pray that motivation comes back once I get over this virus!

Welcome Stina!!!

I think 30 pounds by July is totally realistic, as long as you're realistic with yourself and your level of commitment (I know this from personal experience as I'm still struggling with it). Pay close attention to your diet because that'll be about 75% of the battle (again, I'm still struggling with it). I think it's awesome you have a lot of muscle (I hope I do too, lol).

What kind of workout routine are you going to adopt? Just curious...

Good luck and keep us updated!

Thanks for all the encouragement! I know one of my biggest things is when I am bored, I go to the kitchen, so self discipline is going to be a biggie. I am going to definitely cut down on portions as well.
My husband gets off work at around 1:00 am and I work at around 12:30 pm so I am definitely going to have to be an evening "workouter". I am going to be doing a lot of Wii sports and have been doing this awesome MTV power yoga DVD. Stress is a big factor in my life and its just been helping me mentally and physically, i LOVE it!
I will definitely keep you all updated, just gotta get over this virus and I am on my way!
