Wouldn't be cool if somehow, sometime, we could all meet somewhere and hang for a day or two? I know..."how in the world will I do that, I barely see my family..."
But what if...
If not in person, maybe a video conference, or a companion video blog with introductions to go along with the podcast show where ANYBODY could post videos. I guess we could even start doing this on youtube.com or blogger.com...?? Anybody have ideas?
Just something to ponder and think about.

You could always use Stickam, nothing to download.

About me: --------------------------- I'm an architecture student at a great school.
After trial and error, managed to shed the pounds for real.
What I'm doing: --------------------------- Portion control still a problem. HIIT 2x/week Starting weights 1x/week
I take stairs over escalator and elevator ALL THE TIME (I climb 6 sets of stairs minimum for the day at the metro 2-3floors?).
Extra note: --------------------------- I finally understand what being fit means! And I actually love running now thanks to HIIT.
Goal: lose the belly fat! My problem area. First goal: 120lbs - MET 2nd goal: 116lbs - MET 3rd goal: 112lbs ish with more muscle definition
Realizing I can't change the way my body stores fat and have a noticeable belly during the day (pic was morning with light breakfast after workout) I will work on making a stronger core to counter the pooch a bit
Dropped 1 pant size since last year (stable weight) Dropped 2 pant sizes since mid-Summer after Greece (pastries=weight gain)

that sickham thing is really cool but how would you have a conference with like 50 people via webcam?

Well, you couldn't do a live anything with 50 people at once. But the Stickan chat rooms are pretty cool. It's set up to show 16 live webcams but there can be 50+ people in the chat room and you just choose the cams you want to look at. You can mute/unmute all or just the onces of your choosing, etc. So, if you had a moderator, he/she could control the conference and show the cams/sounds from whomever he/she wished.
I've done it before for a couple of things, a fantasy football sports podcast I'm part of during the season, for one. It's pretty neat.

I actually had been thinking about this. Like if we could all go hang out somewhere - that would be so so awesome! Seriously, I would take off work for a few days to go hang out with you guys!

Well, if you all want to meet somewhere in VA, Dara and I could make it (if it's not in May or July). Otherwise, we might have to join you next year, instead.
Splint, AWESOME after picture. Congrats!

I'm a long time Opera users, in fact, I PAID for Opera back when the basic version was ad-supported.
Opera is just so lean and simple I can't seem to give it up.

Sounds like a great idea. Some sort of live chat or vid would be neat. You could always create a MIRC channel. Does anyone still use that anymore? It's only chat no vid. Stickam sounds better with the vid or chat.

Yes some people still use that. A hacker just recently hacked a website my co-worker worked on, got in the server with SQL injection and took over the server and got on mIRC to sell the server.

I think we should have like a week on a Caribbean Island somewhere with like sponsors so we don't have to pay. They could all set up booths and stuff, and to "repay" them for paying for our trip, we would be required to check out x number of booths and sit through y number of lectures, but then we'd all go out to the beach and show off our sexy summer bods!

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.
