G Kathir
I'm been obese for the past 20 years and in May 2006 I was weighing 240 pounds. After I started reading some weight loss books I started hitting the gym to make sure I dont get the heart disease or diabetes that they have mentioned. By the end of 2007 I lost 45 pounds. Even though I'm officially overweight, I still have a long way to go (165 is my Goal). For the past 1 yr I'm On and Off with exercise and dont follow the diets properly. I hope I can use this site to shed the remaining weight and continue to live a healthy lifestyle.

Hello everyone,
This is Kathir from California. I've been trying to follow the diet and exercise for the past 1.5 yrs but I'm not very regular and consistent. At my peak I used to weigh 240 pounds (in May 2006) but now I'm down to 191.
I hoping to start doing the exercises and follow the diets regularly. I would really appreciate your advice to stay motivated and shed my remaining 26 pounds.
Thank you.

Welcome to Traineo!
To get a regularity in your diet/exercises just buy a calender in which you paint a cross for every day you worked out or followed your diet plan.
That works great for me, after a while you don't want to break the chain

Words to live by: "Now's the time to grab the steering wheel of your life. Delve deep within yourself and take responsibility for your health and behavior. Ask yourself hard questions and face the truth of what needs to be done. Weight loss is not always easy or fair but you are the only one that can lose weight for you. Take a turn for the better!"
Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 240, 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195, 190
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.

Welcome, welcome, welcome.
Niklas has a pretty good idea. Also, being active here on traineo helps with your consistency too, because it feels a lot better to report back with good news than saying you "fell off the wagon." Of course, even if you do fall off, the great people here will provide more than enough support to help get you back on track (I know from experience!).
Again, welcome and let us know how you're progressing.
 YOU CAN DO IT!

Not much to say, I like playing video games and watching/playing sports. I work as a web developer for a small company.
I think when I get into shape I want to become a volunteer firefighter.
Goal: Lose 35lbs before Cardio King
