I am 25, recently got married, bought a house, got a dog, and gained a lot of weight, haha.
I am following the ABS Diet and hope to reach my goal weight of 185 lbs sometime in 2008.

Hello everyone, I am Rob from Massachusetts. 2008 will be the year I finally do it. I will lose this fat once and for all. I am following the ABS Diet by the editor in chief of Men's Health Magazine (healthy eating and a decent amount of weight training). Started on Jan 1st at 267 lbs and hope to be 185 lbs sometime by the end of the year. I have a lot of work ahead of me.

I have a podcast and blog that I've been working on since August of 2006. I created a new email and account herre on Traineo since I can't get in touch with the folks here to forward my password. Working on a new pitbull type podcast that will be coming out in March. No nonsense NOT for the faint of heart.

Not much to say, I like playing video games and watching/playing sports. I work as a web developer for a small company.
I think when I get into shape I want to become a volunteer firefighter.

Hey Rob Good Luck! I have similar goals I want to lose about 78lbs. Currently I am 278lbs. I would at least like to start from there! If you need any motivators I am still currently looking for some myself and would like to help out as well! Take it easy!

Words to live by: "Now's the time to grab the steering wheel of your life. Delve deep within yourself and take responsibility for your health and behavior. Ask yourself hard questions and face the truth of what needs to be done. Weight loss is not always easy or fair but you are the only one that can lose weight for you. Take a turn for the better!"
Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 240, 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195, 190
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.

Welcome Rob!! Best of luck and good mover joining the group! 82 lbs. may seem like a lot, but you will do it as long as you break your goals up to monthly/weekly ones. This has helped me immensely.
Oh, and you have to drink a gallon of water a day to flush your system, liver and kidneys of the metabolized fat...I have lost 100 and still have about 100 to go and H2O has helped me this past week like you wouldn't believe!

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

I have started two new blogs, one to follow my running and a Quest to a Marathon at blog.262quest.com and one to follow my weight loss at blog.2big.org, please check them out.
I am an IT professional / Developer which means I sit in front of a computer most of the day. This means very little exercise and plenty of time to eat.
I decided at the first of the year that I was going to lose weight. I started by changing my eating habits and started walking.
I did so for about a month and then added some weight lifting and started to run a little bit.
I have so far lost 29 lbs in just over 3 months and would like to lose just over another 50 lbs by the end of the year.
I have started running quite a bit more and am training to run the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th (10k)
I need all the encouragement I can get because to do this I am getting up every morning during the week at 4:30 to go running. With a wife and kids this is really the only time that I can consistently do what I need to do.
I am driven, but at times get a bit discouraged because I don't have anybody to work out with or run with.
All in All, I know I can do it, I just have to remember that when I don't do so well, it is in the past and what matters is going forward.
