Hey Everybody!

I'm Ange, I'm 28 and based in Sydney, Australia. Would love some buddies to get healthy with!!

I admit, for too long I have just kicked back and let things go a bit in terms of what I eat, how little I exercised, etc. After all, I'd never had a reason to lose weight before, since I had never been overweight. Always used to be able to eat what I want, do hardly any exercise and maintain a perfect weight of 55-58kg. It was great!

Then I got married, turned 23 and started working from home...and that's when the transformation from slim to fat took place! Got up to 98.6kg - that was about ten days ago!

I'm one of those people who is really into personal development and self help and, although I have been into this stuff for awhile, I've only just begun to take action. The book I am reading and listening to right now - "The Sucess Princples" - by Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul guy - and he was in 'The Secret') really kicked my arse into gear. I definitely recommend you read it, because it's simply amazing! You'll love it!

The whole notion of if you want a change in your outcomes, you must change your behaviours. It's absolutely right. For too long, I just kicked back...thinking some mysterious force of the universe would somehow make me thin again - preferably without me having to change a thing.

But! That is fantasy! Change of outcome requires a change of behaviour - and change I am!

So far, four kilos have gone in just a week and a bit. Started healthy eating a couple of days after Christmas 07, but the exercise just a over a week ago. I haven't stopped and I actually feel like I'm getting into a routine here - just what I need for bad habits to be replaced with good ones. We're doing anywhere from 45-60 minutes of walking each night.

I am finding that my ipod with motivational audio books playing into my ears as I walk is magic! It's really working for me and I feel motivated and inspired as I walk. I recommend this highly!

After all, thoughts of, "My legs hurt" or "I'm sick of this walking" with come into my mind and start tempting me to stop walking if I don't listen to motivational stuff. I do an hour a night with my hubby, who is also aiming to lose weight - about 48kg.

So! That's a bit about me! You can add me to msn messenger if you use it. The address is ameliajane679@hotmail.com - hope to catch up soon and hear more about your story! I'd love to be your buddy and would love to motivate and inspire you!

Chat soon!
Ange

Hey welcome! Ha you read my mind about the miracle I wanted to happen but then, like you, I realized it was never going to happen and the change has to be made by me. So good luck with it all!

Welcome Angela, great to have you on board. You have joined a great resource and I've met some really inspirational people through these pages.

I know what you mean with the books and how it needs action. When you leave them on the bookcase they call it 'shelf help' as thats all it is, help that you've stuck on the shelf.

I've seen the secret and attended many events to see the speakers. In fact I was at an event last night in London where Dr John Demartini was talking about breakthroughs in Business. He is there tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow his topic is on Health. Yes, I'll be there for that. I first saw him last August in London when he shared the stage with Bob Proctor. Another day of phenomenal value. One thing the secret taught me is to just 'Be'. Wanting to change implies there is something wrong with you, which is why shelf help is often misinterpreted. No matter how hard you run from yourself, when you get to the final destination you'll still be there. The Secret has a different message to everybody, but it made me realise how perfect I already was. To say I changed would be true, but the change wasn't something that I had to set as a goal or work towards, it happened then in an instant. Literally in the beat of a heart the transformation was done for me, and I realised I was already who I wanted to be, I just had to express that and live it.

I am a hardcore gym rat at heart as well and I do bust my balls when I train, but I don't do it to change, I do it cos that is who I am and I love it!! The goals I set are just a way of keeping score and if I'm honest I'm very competitive so I like to find people better than me and just catch up. Not to change but because I love the journey. Its who I am. I got better not by becoming a better gym rat but by BEING a better gym rat.

I could talk for hours on these subjects as personal development is my number one passion. Its exciting that you have also discovered a journey of your own and have found a path.

Good luck with everything!! And remember how perfect you are!!

Im sorry, Me. I get audio books from Audbile.com they are just not motivational audio books. Just some stuff from Koontz and books I have always wanted to read but never had the time to sit down and enjoy. You can put them on your iPod or to a CD or any other music device ( I'm assuming)
