Hey everyone I think I am ready to start to lose weight. Sure I said ill try before (many times) only to have it last a week and a half, watching TV then have a commercial come on for some great new looking pizza and be eating it that new pizza by the time the commercial was over. I hate my will power...

But not only my will power but lack of knowledge. I have yet to dig too deep into the site yet (Shame on me) But I hope to start soon and learn about different diets and exercise that could help me achieve my goal weight. So if any of you have any tips or tricks that could help me out, please share!

I am about 278lbs (last time i checked) and want to lose at least 78lbs if not more. I have no real time frame for this but would love to just start doing it. I have always been overweight but recently with my lack of doing anything (working an office job 8-5 then playing video games the rest of the night) I have been starting to psychically feel it (always looked it).

Well thats all I have to say. Hope to hear from you! Thanks!

Also wanted to mention that I just got a 3 month pass to a local gym and was wondering, should I go every day? Every other day? If I recall correctly working out to much can actually have an opposite effect on your health?

Is it okay to walk/run every day? Is it okay to lift weights every day? etc. Thanks! Also looking for some motivators lol TY

hi ara and welcome. glad you decided to make a commitment to change and for your health. start using your pass to the gym and finding things you enjoy. look around, ask for help, try things out, see what you like, get your body moving around. walk on the treadmill, stretch out a bit. see if your gym offers a complimentary training session or evaluation. most do nowadays. in terms of what to do/not do everyday, as long as you dont workout the same muscle groups 2 days in a row your fine.
