Nutrition student believe it or not and I need to lose the weight I gained over the last 2 years in college so I can quit wearing the same 4 outfits. Just need some people that will help me stay motivated and that I can be accountable to. I am in grad school in a new city. I found this website and thought it would be a great tool to use while getting this done. I would love to help anyone out too! I am committed and will definately see this weight loss thing out.

Hi Lanie

Like you I have only recently joined the site, for pretty much the same reason as yourself.

I have found Traineo members to be an invaluable source of information, motivation and general support.

Welcome, and enjoy.

Hi Lanie! I'm currently in my dietetic internship right now! Did you do an internship yet or go straight for your masters? I plan on doing the masters part time after the internship. Anyhoo, I'm pretty new to this site too, but its awesome. Everyone is so helpful. From your pic you look great, but I think the best motivation if you're looking to lose is that we as dietitians are role models. How can we tell people how to eat healthy and exercise if we don't do it ourselves? Base your diet on fruits, veg, and whole grains. I know how crazy life is being a student so I buy a lot of frozen veggies and add rice or whole wheat pasta for a quick dinner. Or I'll do scrambled eggs and kashi waffles, baked potato topped w/ salsa, broccoli and fat free sour cream.....all simple and easy stuff b/c i don't have time to cook and clean up big dinners and study! And I used to take walks around campus during breaks when the days were too packed to fit in the gym. Hope I helped a little bit - Good luck to you

Welcome Lanie! I've been here just over a month and a half and have found it a wonderful community for not only support but information! Feel free to ask any questions, or let us know when you're having a lazy day and we'll remind you how much better you feel after a good workout

Good Luck!

Welcome and good luck in the weight loss goals!

Remember its the little things that help every day! (Such as taking the steps at work, or parking a little farther away from the door)
