I'm almost 300 lbs (287) and want to get down to about 150, about half my weight now. I feel positive that this is possible, doable. I want to make new friends with common goals, and that's why I'm here. It's really pretty simple!

I have a very sedentary job as a control board operator at a power plant, and work a 12 hour rotating shift. This makes it very hard to regulate my sleep cycle in addition to making it difficult to adhere to a workout schedule and eating schedule. How many meals should I eat and when should I eat them?--- beats the heck out of me.

I really want this. I can't get any heavier. I can do this.

I'm looking forward to any input or advice from any of you, thanks!

Eat right after getting up. Then keep some healthy food nearby when you work so that you can eat every 3-4 hours, which will keep your metabolism up.

Sounds tough! I wish you the best of luck. <^.^>
I also have a schedule that's not very forgiving or conducive to regularity with anything: College. >.<
My general idea is to try to make a checklist of the workout things that I want to do each day, and then take whatever time I can find to do them. There are also a good bit of exercises that you can do while sitting down. Try Gimme20.com. They might have something.
Another thing that will help is if you exercise a little bit in the morning. That (along with the suggestion above mine) will help keep your metabolism up during the day.
I sincerely hope you make it. <^.^>

Find some motivators. Make sure they will get on your case. I don't know about you, but having accountability really helps me stay busy.
