Hiya.

I'm Tiffini. I'm 18 years old. I'm 5'3", and I weigh about 230 (I don't have access to an entirely accurate scale at the moment to double-check >.<).
So... Hi. *waves*
I'm basically new to the whole serious (and healthy) weight loss and fitness thing. I have to add the "and healthy" bit in there because I struggle with anorexic tendencies. Even when I was in shape, I would go without meals and eat very little to try to lose weight. That was before I really understood the mechanics of it. I beat my body up like that for about 2 years, and really did a number on my metabolism with it. And then I had to stop playing soccer b/c of an injury. After that, my weight just skyrocketed. I went from 130lbs to 180lbs in a couple of months. My weight peaked at 230lbs 2 yrs ago, and I've managed to fluctuate b/t 200lbs and 230lbs.
Anyway... I'm just really looking for help and support. I have a lot of extra weight, and it's really taking it's toll on my body. I'm ready to get rid of it so I can enjoy my life again. Any encouragement, tips, or anything is appreciated. Especially anything about trying to balance anorexic tendencies towards not eating with actual healthy eating (anything at all that you have to say about it, I'll appreciate); Low-impact excersizes for bad knees; anything about what is a healthy realistic goal and timeframes.

On a side note: I'm not normally this boring or stiff. I just really don't know what's expected for these posts. And I get the feeling that what I was trying to present as facts came out more like a sob story. >.< Sorry 'bout that.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer advice or encouragement. I'm looking for weight-loss buddies too, so if I didn't scare you off already let me know. <^.^>

Welcome Tiffini! You'll find plenty of support here. While I can't give you advice or tips about the anorexic tendencies, I also suffered an injury from soccer about 3 years ago. I tore my ACL and working out now can literally be a pain sometimes. Good luck on your "healthy" journey. Just remember that it's a very slow, gradual process and to not give up. Just take it one day at a time and think to yourself, "what can I do today to be healthy?" I think if you try to take that approach every day you'll do just fine.
