PS - this is going to suck a little on the 3rd set

You called the shots superstar!!

Question is, has the kitchen got too hot for you??

I think you're gonna wish you had more rest in there as that one minute in between is probably not gonna be enough to bring you back around for round 2.

I'm not bothered either way, for as the Warrior motto states:

'When you're the flame you can't get burned'

1. hell yes
2. no, assuming you're not doing it a few times/day

Good luck on the SL 5X5, it's a great program. I was on that for a bit and really enjoyed it.

seems we have more than one flame; what happens then?

I'm not worried, I was just warning you! In case you wanted to start working on some excuses - you won't have 8 weeks to do that like in the running challenge.

The "yes" was to un-weighted... While weighted sets sounds fun, let's start a little simpler

The stronglifts helped me add a ton of weight (relative to what I was doing) to my bench and also helped me find good form on my squats. I only did it for about a month, but had great progress during that time. If you're doing this to add weight, remember to eat, eat, eat...

Careful not to make a noose to hang yourself on. I've smashed the Basic Army Fitness test on many occassion and completely blown the limits out of the water. And I have my number one student returning from the war zone straight into a phys session on Sat morning where we will be hitting a 10 mile run while adding in sprint sessions, press-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and whatever we can think of along the way.

Short of making your figures up, you don't have a prayer!! (Testosterone oozing out!), Ha ha

You can't claim to be a flame, that honour has to be bestowed upon you. There is a process in place and next time you're round this way check me up and I'll let you know where you stand.

Looking forward to locking horns superstar!!

I'm also not worried about winning - the competition helps me do the best I can, which is all I'm worried about

I may have a long way to go, but I am definitely looking forward to a little competition on the other side of the pond!

Me neither really, but I'm feeling really mischievous today and nobody wants to play my games, cos everybody else is acting all grown up.

It's not fair. Lets get myself down the park and challenge the little kids to hopskotch. There immature enough to entertain my playful streak!!

Just won a pack of smarties and a gobstopper!!

Now I'm going back for the little blighters Teengae Mutant Hero Turtle Lunchbox. Ha ha

Don't worry I'll give it back before they get too upset as some of the Dads round here look pretty big.

What else can I do to entertain some of this playful energy? Think I might glue a quid to the floor and watch nuggets in the street try and pick it up!!

Glue - as in stick
Quid - as in English currency. A coin which is like having a buck I suppose. A quid is just another way of saying a pound.

Sorry, I forget about the language barrier sometimes, especially when I'm getting carried away

No your right, a lot of people from nj talk like that. Its one of the many reason that no one respects the garden state. That and several other reasons that i will omit from this convo (trying to stay positive today). Its a shame too if it wasn't so expensive to live here it would really be an amazing place. NJ doesn't get the credit it deserves... Anyway, Looks like we have a healthy competition here and i'd like to wish everyone luck.

Hahahah. My first image was Dean taking a squid, gluing it to the sidewalk, and standing behind a bush watching human-sized chicken nuggets try to pick it up. Hahahahahah!

One Set:
1-min of squats (how many did you do?)
1-min of jumping jacks (how many did you do?)
1-min of situps (how many did you do?)
1-min of lunges (how many did you do?)
1-min of burpees (how many did you do?)

1-min of rest

[/One Set]

Do 3 Sets.

what was your best set? (I suggest sum of all parts, but I'm sure we'd all be curious how we all did on the micro scale as well)

what was your total?

This is suicide!

Question is: will I get through the first set let alone all three!?

Technically - a burpee does NOT include a push-up (press-up), right?

I am willing to give it a try - though I don't think I will battling it out for the honorable title of 'flame'. Who is gonna go first and set the bar? (not too high, please)

I'll go first, since I'm fairly certain I would be too embarrassed to put my numbers up once the rest of y'all put yours up! hehe

By the by, w/the burpees, my press was probably only 1/2 a press...I'll 'fess up to that...oh, and I did alternating leg lunges...wasn't sure if that's what we were all gonna do or what, but it made the most sense to me, considering the challenge...What else? ooooh...those jumping jacks are murder!!! Even w/my best sports bra on, I think my "girls" were screaming for help (sorry, TMI, but it's true! it kinda hurt...didn't like those at all.)

ok...drumroll please....

squats 51/49/50 (best - 51)
lunges 20/24/22 (best - 24)
situps 32/30/32 (best - 32)
jumping jacks 40/45/46 (best - 46)
burpees 12/14/16 (best - 16)

personally, I think I should get bonus pts b/c I outweigh all of you heh...amazing how easy squats are when there's no weight on your shoulders!! Now, c'mon Dean!! I'm sure you can blast my numbers outta the water!

Keep dreamin', buddy! I've been watching Glovia mop the floor with you in the US vs. UK run. I expect no different results in this one with me.

Thanks, Cindy! When I hop on the bandwagon, I'm usually the first one there I blame it on being Aries and always wanting to be FIRST!
