Wise decision. Signing up for the military in England is like getting a first class ticket straight to the war zone. So many battles and so few men. Probably similar in America maybe, though you've probably got a much bigger pool of resources than we have. I quite liked the idea of being in the military when I was younger though it was quite naive really. I'm not totally sure I could do 44 in like 30 minutes or something. I know I could do 55 situps in the 2 minutes and if I can ever get a mile and a half in under 10 1/2 minutes, I will think that I am superwoman!

Maybe there is a different test for girls? You don't need to yet, unless you are thinking of a career in the British Army.

Also, you don't have to do them all in one go as you have 2 minutes to get your reps in so you can rest in the middle and do 2 sets if you need to.

Quoting: mia79gbrWIth the Basic Army Fitness test do you have breaks in between the press ups in 2 minutes and sit-ups in 2 minutes etc or do you just go mad for about 10 minutes?

Spoil Sport!!

What about the Basic Fitness Test they do in the British Army over here?

It is Maximum press ups in 2 minutes, maximum sit-ups in 2 minutes and a 1 and a half mile run best effort.

I'm not sure what the minimum standard is but I don't think it s too bad. I think it is something like 44 press-ups, 55 sit-ups and the run in under 10 and a half minutes.

Any takers??...

Reply by Richard H.

Who wants to do leg lifts? Hey Dean, are you rowing across the Atlantic?
