Happy New Year from the traineo team!
We're looking forward to a great year for the traineo community...the first new feature we're proud to announce in 2007 is the addition of MeeboMe to traineo profile pages.
If you're not familiar with Meebo, its a great free service that allows you to communicate via instant message (IM) from any browser without downloading any software.
You can use Meebo to access all of your buddies (on AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ and Jabber).... and now of course visitors to your traineo profile page!
Activating Meebo, which is optional and takes about a minute, on your traineo profile page allows you to chat live with visitors to your page (e.g. Motivators, Contacts and others...)...it's a great way to stay even more connected to your health and fitness support network at traineo.
Activate MeeboMe via the link on the left hand side of your traineo page now!
Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your support and best of luck to everyone in 2007!
Alasdair

I am 34 years old, married and a father of a 2.5 year old. They are the motivators for me to reach my goal. I started the new journey on 8/21/06 @307 lbs and as of June '08, I have lost around 108 lbs. I have been able to keep 100 lb weight loss since Sept. '07. What keeps me on track is the Traineo community, vision of a healthy and fit future and the mini-goals below. *GOAL 1 = 244 lbs, Date = 2/15/07 Date Met = 2/7/07 *GOAL 2 = 229 lbs, Date = 3/22/07 Date Met = 3/30/07 ________________________ *GOAL 3 = 199 lbs, Date = 6/30/08 Date Met = 6/5/08 *GOAL 4 = 185 lbs, Date = 09/30/08 Date Met = TBD (185 is my "ultimate" goal. Then build muscle.)
Hobbies/Interests: Baseball, White Sox, bowling, WII, Xbox 360, PSP, XM, Opie and Anthony radio show, Ron and Fez radio show, variety of music, working out, running.
Personal Records: 5K - 26:18 (4/14/08-8:29/mile pace) 10K- 54:56-9/16/07-(8:43/mile pace) 10 Mile Run - CXLD due to injury Marathon - 10/12/08
Advice: - Set a Deadline: "A goal is a dream with a deadline - Napolean Hill." - Set Mini Goals - They help you accomplish small milestones on your way to the "ultimate" goal. - Track your progress. - Plan everything out. Daily workout routines, meals, etc. - Be patient. Your goals will eventually be met, if you work hard.

Maxwell, this is a great feature. I signed up and added it to my profile page, but how do I activate my status. Right now, it says I am offline.

Hi Fred -
When you're signed into your Meebo account at Meebo.com you'll be 'ONLINE' on your traineo profile page....the idea is that you can use Meebo for your IMs (AOL, Google Chat, MSN...) and also traineo communications.
Let us know if you need any further assistance.
We're very interested to see what you think of this feature.
Thanks,
Alasdair

I am 29 years old and have grown passionate about fitness and health! Overall, I have lost and kept off a little over 40 pounds, and I have about 20 or so more that I would like to take off. This last year has been tough and distracting in many ways, and I am back to work now! I am revisiting Traineo, because this site and the people here were instrumental in helping me lose my original 40 pounds so I am back! I regret that because of time constraints I won't be able to be AS active in the forums as I used to, but I will certainly try to stay in there and reconnect with old friend as well as make new ones.
My fitness goals remain the same as before as I haven't achieved them yet: *GOAL 1 = 140 lbs Target Date = 7/31/08 Date Met = TBD CURRENT FITNESS GOALS: Run a 5K, improve flexibility enough to do the splits, be able to do 50 pushups in a row, be able to do a pull-up, learn to do a hand stand and then hand stand pushups. :)

I am 39 years old. My goal is to be in the best shape of my life in my 40s, in terms of endurance and strength.
I like weight training, cardio cross training (from treadmill running to kickboxing) and above all Yoga.
I like music, movies, reading fiction, travel, exercise. I am vegetarian because I love animals. I love cats best.

I already have trouble spending way too much time online. Now I have one more temptation to handle. Darn! And yet...Certainly fun!
Very useful support for the motivator-motivatee feature too.
Setting up was so easy.
Thank you traineo.

My fitness regimen includes stationary cycling, light weight training and lots of walking around NYC. I'm a graduate of WeightWatchers and an enthusiastic advocate of its balanced approach to weight loss. I'm sure that I drink too much coffee and get too little sleep. :)
My goals are to maintain my weight in a healthy BMI/BF % range and forestall the toll of advancing age. :)
I think Traineo's established a great community and appreciate the support and information we share.

@Alisdair: If you keep adding features that make Traineo engaging and fun, I will personally hold you responsible for spawning legions of 'net-addicted, overweight, unemployed wannabees.
Seriously, a great addition! Well done.

This is a great tool. However, I am having trouble logging into www.meebo.com at work. It was actually fine yesterday morning, but after lunch I logged out and tried to log back in and I get a blank blue screen. I let a meebo forum thread know about my issue. It looks like other meebo users are having similar issues.

I was able to get my Meebo issue resolved, which is great.
Does anyone know if there is a way to have your Internet Explorer icon to blink when someone is trying to chat you? I had someone visit my Traineo page and they sent me a message via Meebo, but I never saw it because I did not know someone was trying to message me.

Maxwell thanks. However at work I use IE 6. I guess I will have to live without for now. I turned up my volume to see if that will work.

http://anotherfatguy.wordpress.com/ I'm looking at a total weight loss of over 130 lbs (60 kg for those of you in Europe like me...), from 150 kg to 90 kg (330 lbs to 198 lbs). I'm a 36 year old man and am REALLY tired of... well being tired.
So far I've been training like a mofo, and have totally revisited my diet - so far so good, 1/3 of my goal HAS been met - YIPPEE!!
Have met some great people here, and looking forward to meeting even more here on traineo - don't be afraid to bombard me with motivation - I'll take all you can give me :)

I added meebo, but I obviously did something wrong when I signed up, because it's not working on my profile page.
Is there any way I can reset it and try again? On my profile now I just get the "connecting to meebo" message and nothing happens...
