Brian over at roobasoft has made a fantastic new apple dashboard widget for you to be able to input your weight into traineo quickly and easily.
Get the goods here : traineo widget
Incidentally, a traineo API is available, so if you've an idea or a hankering to develop something, please do let us know and we'll see what we can sort out!
Cheers,
Maxwell

I am 34 years old, married and a father of a 2.5 year old. They are the motivators for me to reach my goal. I started the new journey on 8/21/06 @307 lbs and as of June '08, I have lost around 108 lbs. I have been able to keep 100 lb weight loss since Sept. '07. What keeps me on track is the Traineo community, vision of a healthy and fit future and the mini-goals below. *GOAL 1 = 244 lbs, Date = 2/15/07 Date Met = 2/7/07 *GOAL 2 = 229 lbs, Date = 3/22/07 Date Met = 3/30/07 ________________________ *GOAL 3 = 199 lbs, Date = 6/30/08 Date Met = 6/5/08 *GOAL 4 = 185 lbs, Date = 09/30/08 Date Met = TBD (185 is my "ultimate" goal. Then build muscle.)
Hobbies/Interests: Baseball, White Sox, bowling, WII, Xbox 360, PSP, XM, Opie and Anthony radio show, Ron and Fez radio show, variety of music, working out, running.
Personal Records: 5K - 26:18 (4/14/08-8:29/mile pace) 10K- 54:56-9/16/07-(8:43/mile pace) 10 Mile Run - CXLD due to injury Marathon - 10/12/08
Advice: - Set a Deadline: "A goal is a dream with a deadline - Napolean Hill." - Set Mini Goals - They help you accomplish small milestones on your way to the "ultimate" goal. - Track your progress. - Plan everything out. Daily workout routines, meals, etc. - Be patient. Your goals will eventually be met, if you work hard.

Hi Fred,
Yep, this is apple only, although there's plenty of scope for someone (anyone) to develop something similar for windows.
Thanks
Max

I always tell people that I'm a Pro Bass fisherman that has to work as and I.S. Analyst for a living because I suck at fishing! Anyways, after 2 knee surgeries, excess weight was causing pain in my knee... Especially after standing in the boat for 8 hours. As the weight came off, the pain in my knee was reduced to a minimal ache. Now I'm in a weight maintenance mode...

Just a thought... It would be cool if someone would create a Google Gadget that worked similar to the Traineo buttons? I found an HTML Gadget and added it to my Google home page. Then I added the HTML for my Traineo button. It does OK, but it doesn't do a great job of displaying the buttons all the time. When it works, I like seeing the buttons as a reminder of where I'm at.

My weight has gone up and down repeatedly in the last few years. I managed to lose a lot of weight before getting married 2 years ago, but have since gained most of it back.
I hope to find new motivation on this site, and hopefully make some new friends. This time I want to lose weight and keep it off. I'm trying to not think of it as a diet, but as a change in lifestyle.

Thanks for pointing this out Maxwell - I'll definitely be adding it to my dashboard!

Sadly, I'm a PC. Can anyone duct-tape this widget to my forehead so I can use it?

There's an API?!?! Yes, please!
Edit: Aha! Perhaps a being-implemented-as-requested sort of thing?

Having lost 90 pounds in 2002 and rounding it out to a full 100 in 2003, I've bounced up and down ever since. I need to finish the job and make 2007 a repeat of 2002.

Beat me to it!
My widget only shows the status badge. I hadn't posted it yet since I hadn't gotten around to making the username a pref.
Off to go read the source.. presumably that's the only docs for the api at the moment.

For info about the API just message me. It's still early days, so a lot of it is, as Ben surmised, implemented upon request, although there's a fair bit which is already open.
Thanks!

Yes, I would like a traineo widget to put on my Google desktop or my blog, too. I like the one Nikeplus has, for instance....I can see my last 5 runs there.

I am 24, a student who also works full time. I'm a comp sci major, so I spend a decent amount of time with computers, but I'm also working on becoming a paramedic.
I am an obsessive counter. I always put things in order and organize them.
So calorie counting and working out to a specific regimen is easier for me than it is for most people. I at least get some serious motivation from utilizing websites to track this stuff.

I would love to make something using the API (I am a programer) but you have your contact disabled... I can't msg you

I'd be interested in attempting to port or make a similar widget for those of us using Vista. So a link to the API would be nice

I did the Abs Diet a few years ago and went from 205lbs to 183lbs in about 10 weeks. Work and other scheduling conflicts caused me to get off of a good diet and workout, so I am going to try and get back to that.
