Well, it's happened again.

We all have that one body part that sends us back to the gym, or in my case, my office-turned-fitness-room. (more on that in a later post, I'm sure). For me, that one body part is my butt. I'm 36 now and I've reached the age where if i don't keep on a strict butt maintenance routine, it gets in this kind of lumpy square shape, even when I'm at my most streamlined weight (which I proudly say, I currently am). It just doesn't seem to hold a roundness that I so admire in the instructors in my workout videos.

Today, I finally did a workout-workout. What I mean is that though I walk the dog lots and am a hard core haul-the-water-around-in-buckets gardener, and I get lots of exercise, I haven't spent dedicated exercise and fitness time in a while. I've been pretty tied to my computer designing the CROW website and ordering labels and tags and researching fabrics and finding seamstresses etc, that hours pass by and though my computer and my blackberry tell me "yoga time" I have admittedly let those reminders pass unanswered.

Then today the universe stepped in and threw some cold water on my face.
I had a meeting with Eileen (mentioned below in the post about greenwashing) and from there went to Goodwill to make a donation. I opened my passenger side door where some items were then went around to the back to get other things out. A young man was helping me. He grabbed some things and I grabbed others, put them in the assigned bins and I drove off.

What I didn't realize was that he grabbed the prototype for the Crolo shirt and the precious and out of print instructions on pattern grading from Eileen that were in the front seat. I didn't realize this until many many hours later. Yes, that's right, the first and original Crolo, apparently is being sold at Goodwill- our first unofficial retailer.

This was my wake-up call. I came home and set to getting my life back on track. I have been disorganized and not dealing with it. I'm not a disorganized person and I've been really dedicated to my fitness routine for the last year solid. Even when I'm on the road giving lectures, I always find a treadmill, cycle, elliptical or at least a long walk to keep me in touch and in shape. But for the last month or so, I haven't done that at all.

Today I exercised.
When I get out of touch like that the place I turn to to get me back to loving a good workout is Yoga Booty Ballet. It sounds crazy, but it's fun and has two of the most radiant loving women as instructors that you will ever come across. I hope to be able to take their teacher training one day soon. So I plugged in Gillian and Teigh and went to town. I sweat while my sheets were in the dryer, and after i organized all the clutter that had been getting out of control. I took a quick bath then put away the laundry that had been sitting in baskets *near* my closet for weeks. I unloaded the dishwasher. I cleaned off my work table, organized rolls and rolls of fabric, and moved all the stuff out of the way of the paths of my blind dog who has been bumping into everything lately. I am now officially back on track.

All of this is to say, that as I was getting ready for bed, I saw concrete evidence as to how out of touch I have become-- my butt. I'm recommitting to a round firm lovely bikini-worthy butt and plan to track my progress on traineo.

Join me and bring your neglected body parts. We'll all get fit, firm and perky together! Don't wait until the universe wakes you up in a way you really don't need!
