Hi All,
We've had quite a few complaints/questions/requests/survey results regarding both privacy and the ability to edit past dates.
First of all, privacy
A lot of people are concerned that their names & weight loss goals are out there in the open - they are only out there if you choose for them to be. We support several levels of privacy, and if you go to your 'about me' tab, and click on Profile Visibility & Privacy you can make yourself invisible, or just hide your weight and goals. We've decided that this important feature isn't really prominent enough, so we've integrated it into the signup process (some weeks ago), and we're going to make the link more prominent.
Secondly changing date
This is possible through a variety of means.
Firstly, there's the little yellow Your Calendar: Jump to a date on the top right corner of each diet, training etc page, which you can click on, and then choose any date from the small calender.
Secondly, there are previous and next day buttons directly above the calendar widget - you can use these to go forwards and back days.
Finally, if you click on any data point in any of your graphs, it'll take you straight to the relevant data entry page on that date.
These features are already here, and built in, but we've perhaps not made them prominent enough.
Thanks for your patience with us while we iron out the flaws!

I\'m a 25 year old female in Upstate New York. I started my diet in May of 2006 because i wanted to lose 30 pounds by my wedding in August. I lost 40 by my wedding :)
I am continuing my weight loss because my husband and I want to start a family. I want to be able to have a healthy pregnancy and to start my new life with my children in a healthy way.
I do not want my children to go through what i went through.

Hi Stephanie,
Not yet, I'm afraid, but this is something which is in the works at the moment.
Thanks!

Regarding the profile privacy box: I was looking all over for how to change that, and never ever noticed the traineo preferences box. Why? I think it was because it is in a yellow background, the same type of box you use for information display (see the weight lost to date box for example). By trying to highlight it with yellow, you made it invisible to my brain. By contrast, the links in the about me section such as changing name and starting weight were easily found, and I kept looking over there thinking that there must be some way to view the privacy options from those links.
Secondly -- why don't you allow me to enter weights from days before I joined?

Hi Wayne,
Ok, not a bad idea - we'll play with maybe putting the privacy settings button in it's own box, and make it more prominent.
This is actually more a database issue than anything else - this is something we intend to offer very shortly, but need to fully assess the impact on all areas of the site of allowing this.
Thanks again,
Maxwell

Regarding the dates: I often stay logged into the site for days on end. Many times I'll forget to input a day and need to go back. Lately, I'll use the "previous day" link and it'll shoot me back two days. I.e.: today is the 10th. I need to edit the entry for the 9th. But pressing the button gets me straight to the 8th. To add to the madness the dropdown calendar will indicate that I am on the 9th. See an example I captured here:
http://www.testmonkeydesigns.com/blogPhotos/traine oDateIssue.gif
It's a bit inconsistent and drives me nutty. Am I nuts? Is this normal behavior? I often resort to logging out of the site and logging back in later.

Maxwell,
I posted this at my "I cannot Edit" thread too. The Edit link has disappeared entirely from some of my posts. Strange. It exists in a few but not in some.
This one for instance is not editable: URL

Seems like being able to remove a motivator is also a privacy issue. Relationships change and it seems like we should have control over who are motivators are...

Hi Brandon -
Thanks for your very important feedback regarding privacy. We have been listening to the comments / feedback and the latest update does allow you to remove both contacts and motivators. You can remove your motivators from your traineo homepage or by visiting their profile page (where you'll see a 'Remove from Motivators' link).
I hope that helps and please let us know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks,
Alasdair
p.s. Hope you're enjoying the slightly nicer weather in Cambridge today ;)!

Thanks so much--just trying to get back into this! Did a 5.8 mile run along the river--still a little cool, but better than it will be for the runners on Monday!

Words to live by: "Now's the time to grab the steering wheel of your life. Delve deep within yourself and take responsibility for your health and behavior. Ask yourself hard questions and face the truth of what needs to be done. Weight loss is not always easy or fair but you are the only one that can lose weight for you. Take a turn for the better!"
Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

The bug where profiles with an underscore in their name - it still messes up the cookie/session so that the system thinks you are not logged in.
