Here is a silly question...

I played in a hockey tournament this weekend...Each game lasted 1h:15m. This includes stoppage in play (whistles). I played half of the time (approx. 30 minutes) [the other half, I sat on the bench and tried to catch my breath]. My heart rate was going fast for the entire 1h:15m...I entered in 30 minutes of hockey activity in at the 'Medium' level...Did I enter this in correctly. Or should I have entered in 1:15m?

You probably entered the data correctly, but K M if you played 30 mins and your heart was "going fast" for at least 2 1/2 times that length of time as a result (and not just from the excitement of watching the sport), then I would let that doctor who has you on a prescribed rapid weight loss program know about it.

The prolonged rapid heartbeat you described could be an arrhythmia. Most arrhyhtmias are harmless, but some reflect larger problems like heart disease that may require treatment and management. Since you're already under a doctor's care, no harm in raising the subject during your next check in!

BTW, congrats on your weight loss so far. Wish my chart looked as impressive as yours!

Thanks Ron.

I have mentioned to the dietician and the doc that I play hockey already. Hockey is a high cardio sport and all of the guys (all old like me) were winded. I am not on a regime that involves an articifical hike in my basal metabolic rate or heart rate. I am simply on a much reduced calorie intake. Infact, I only have 800 calories per day.

BTW, I hope to someday in near your weight....but for now my target is 215.

215 would be good! I'm sure you'll make it.
