I'm 26 years old, I have a wonderful wife and a beautiful daughter.
I graduated from US Air Force basic training and am now at tech school. I will be doing PT 3 times a week and working out in the gym 3 days as well.
My goal is to maintain my weight while burning more fat and gaining strength.

my profile says 'goal met', when i still have some 10 pounds to go. i actually missed my goal date, so i can only assume that the system thinks that since its passed the goal date that the goal was met.

Hi - I'm new to the site, and I am getting familiar with entering in the calories I burn during my workouts in the My Workout section of the site. When I pick an activity from the dropdown list, select the length of time and enter the difficulty level, the automatic calorie calculator gives me a count that reads something like 20804 kcals. Can you tell me what this means? I thought I burned around 200 calories, not 20804.
Thank you for explaining this to me!

I know this is probably a dumb question, I have been counting and recording calories and my question is, when counting calorie intake, should I record the exact number i ingested, or the number of calories AFTER I deduct calories burned from exercise? thanks, jen

When I list someone as a motivator, what information do they see about me? Specifically, is my actual weight there for them to see or just the amount I have lost or gained?

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Hi all,
I have put on a lot of weight over the last year and now I want to lose about 30 pounds. My family and freinds have all started making comments about my weight gain and I want to stop these snide little remarks.
I'm 21 years old and need to make my fitness a priority. About a year ago I used to go to the gym up to twice a day and loved the energy it gave me but now I'm always tired and sleepy and never have energy for anything but sitting around on the computer.
I have gone from wearing size 30-32 to 36-38 pants and from small-med shirts to some med- mostly large shirts. My weight changes pretty easily so this is only a matter of getting me into the gym.
My last job was mostly active and required a lot of walking around, but my current job is mostly sitting. I'm a mobile computer technician under contract with IBM (sometimes Dell) mostly repairing laptops and desktops at customer's locations and my schedule changes daily so I never know where I will be at that day, where I'm eating lunch, or the time I'm getting home.
Anyway, thanks for reading and hope that you check up and leave a comment...

can't reset goal weight
this is a big problem for me and a few others. I'd really, really love for this to get solved. I kept playing with the numbers of starting weight and goal weight to try and fix it and now it says "goal met" when it isn't.
pleaaaaaaase! i'm afraid i'll stop using the site if this goes on much longer.

Hi Joey,
I'm really sorry about the frustration this is causing you. Have you tried clearing your browser 'cache' to see if this updates? Please feel free to send me a private message and I'll have our team take a look ASAP.
I actually just tried to replicate your issue and was able to update my weight...could you confirm you are clicking the 'UPDATE MY PROFILE' button after you change your targets? You can also update your starting weight in the same panel by changing 'Name & Starting Weight'.
Please let me know if that works for you and thanks for your patience.

Hi! I want to reach my goal weight (14 pounds less) in a span of 100 days. My favorite activities for a workout are walking and dancing (hard intensity). I don't have any motivators, and I would like to start weight-training soon (but don't know how). Thanks for visiting my page! ^_^

This past week I've entered more than one workout on several days. When I go back to check, the total kcal amount is correct, however only the first workout shows. It's as if the second workout never existed!
Is there any way to fix this problem?

Thanks for your help, Alasdair, I appreciate it.
Unfortunately none of the methods have worked so far. I've even tried to change my starting weight and goals to some arbitrary number it's still saying "Goal Met".

I'm very excited about having you guys out there to challenge me and help me stay on track. I was in the best shape of my life just 7 years ago, but what used to work isn't working as well as I get older and the lbs. have just been such a huge struggle. I'm excited about 2008!

It is wonderful that you offer this site and that it is free. However, I am regularly having trouble getting onto it because it is overcrowded. Any chance you'll be moving to a new server soon, with more capacity? Because I've only used you for a little over a week, and I've have several days when I could not get on all day...one was the first of the month, when I guess a lot of people were having trouble, so I thought it would just get better. Then it happened again last evening. I come here for support; if it's going to be impossible to get into the site this often, I would really need to find another site to use...have you become too popular for the size of your server? Do you have any plans to fix that? Please let us know what's up.

I'm 41 and work as a software consultant. I live near Washington DC. I work out seven days a week, two of those days include racquetball. I plan to lose 28 lbs and get my body fat percentage down to 20% in around 60 days. This year if I can maintain those two stats, I will have accomplished my goal! Good luck everyone!

Hello!
My profile is showing that I've actually GAINED 7lbs rather than having LOST 7lbs. My first entry was for 213.8, now I'm down to 207.2. I think it's because I went back and modified my start weight UP, after having entered weight on subsequent days. Is there any way for me to fix this thru the app? If not can tech support modify the numbers in the db? Thanks!

I come back to this forum to see whether anyone at Traineo is answering these questions. Where are the answers...do they appear elsewhere? Have they given up on us? The site is often too crowded to get on, the motivators aren't getting emails...is anyone working on any of these issues?

http://anotherfatguy.wordpress.com/ I'm looking at a total weight loss of over 130 lbs (60 kg for those of you in Europe like me...), from 150 kg to 90 kg (330 lbs to 198 lbs). I'm a 36 year old man and am REALLY tired of... well being tired.
So far I've been training like a mofo, and have totally revisited my diet - so far so good, 1/3 of my goal HAS been met - YIPPEE!!
Have met some great people here, and looking forward to meeting even more here on traineo - don't be afraid to bombard me with motivation - I'll take all you can give me :)
