Hi.
What's really missing from traineo for me is a way to update my stats from my mobile phone. I can browse the site using Opera Mobile on my N70 but it appears all jumbled and all the layers appear at once, not how its supposed to. It would be nice if there were a scaled down mobile version (no ajaxy stuff) where you could log in and update your weight, work out and diet, nothing fancy. Maybe also check messages.
Thanks.

I am a contractor for a monolithic IT firm. This translates into a lot of time spent sitting. I have always been a big guy, but I am tired of being obese so I am going to utilize the power of community to hold my feet to the fire to stay active.

Maybe a way to txt your information in would be more scalable and beneficial to more users.

Hi Luke,
A mobile version is actually in the pipeline, and we're hoping to have ready and live in 5-6 weeks, give or take.
Thanks,
Maxwell

I have yo-yo'd between 14st and 19st for the last 8-9 years mainly due to sitting at a computer or travelling for work. Enough is enough though and I want to have a full winter season skiing and snowboarding followed by a summer of mountaineering and I need to lose weight and get fit to do it.
So, here I am. Publicly tracking my progress and giving myself the motivation to keep it up during the 'dark' days (of which I've not had any yet!). Prior to gaining this weight, I was fit and very outdoorsy and I want to get back to that without any further messing around.
My methods are old-school. I focus on LSD (long, slow, distance) training by walking hills with my dog and try to make sure I do this for at least 30 mins each day. At the same time, I watch my eating habits and do my best to avoid my biggest vice - sugar.
That's me for now...

I haven't tried yet but good suggestion. Good to hear we'll have a mobile version soon. Let me know if I can help test (I do web-dev).

Hi Luke,
Thanks, we may well be looking for testers for some of our upcoming features in the not-too-distant future, and we're going to be doing some focus groups to see how we can improve as well, so we'll keep you posted.
The RSS feeds all work nicely on my phone (Sony Ericsson k800i), althoug I do agree that having them work both ways would be great!
Thanks,
Maxwell

I would really like to see a mobile version... I think it would be fantastic to update calorie intake - right at the restaurant, enter your workout - while your running, be able to update your logs while your away from your computer. Maybe check on a friend's progress, while your waiting for a flight - maybe even send them a "get your a.. into gear!" message while your boring date drones on. Maybe impress your "good" date with how well you take care of yourself with some of those cool graphs and the goal graphics.
I think traineo is one of the coolest web 2.0 sites that I have found... the mobile version is the only feature that I really really miss.
BTW, I use a Treo 700p and my wife has the Treo 650. ( Also have a RAZR, but dont use it much)
I look forward to seeing the mobile version...

Hi! I'm a 44 year-old slightly overweight male looking to loose 30lbs by the end of year. For me, weight loss is just one part of an overall plan for living a healthier lifestyle (as healthy a lifestyle as possible!) In addition to diet and exercise, other elements of my healthy way of life include good sleep, proper hydration, kicking the (smoking) habit, meditation, and disease management (I have rheumatoid arthritis).
I signed up at Traineo because maintaining routines has always been difficult for me. 3 years ago however, after many tries, I was finally able to maintain an exercise routine for a period of 6 months with outstanding results. I then stopped working out so I'd have more time for other things and 3 months later the RA got worse. Since then I've been unable to motivate myself back into the gym.
Well, my motivation is back, due in part to Traineo. I think having a few motivators will be a great help. Also, posting my efforts on the Internet, for the whole world to see, may help to keep me on my toes. I'm not entirely sure about that yet so I may change my profile so only Traineo members can see it.
I'm strong willed, but most of all I crave the results I achieved 3 years ago. So I'm determined, and thus far my spirits remain high. I sure am glad you stopped to read about me and great luck with your own efforts! Cheers!

Hear hear for mobile access!!
Mobile access aside, are the Traineo folks interested in suggestions for site improvements and additional functionality?
Cheers!

I've been dealing with being overweight for about 10 years now. Each year I say, I'll deal with it, and each year I don't. I'm taking one prescription medication and I'd like to see that go bye-bye.
2007 is my year! Life is going to change. I'm hoping to put 300 miles on my bike and several "mountains" (locally) under my feet :)

Mobile Access would be great, I've got an iPhone and it would be great to update right at the gym or while out exercising.

I am hoping to better understand what and how much I eat. I also want to be more committed to some fitness goals like a planche pushup with my feet levitating in the air.

Hip Hip hooray for mobile access. I'd like to see that as well as more done with the food log. I like the way the food log is handled at FitDay, but I prefer all the other rich features here. Looks like both are accessing the USDA info...just doing something different once you find something.

Not much to say, I like playing video games and watching/playing sports. I work as a web developer for a small company.
I think when I get into shape I want to become a volunteer firefighter.
Goal: Lose 35lbs before Cardio King

What are all you iPhone people talking about? Traineo works great on mine, the only problem is that you have to tap where you want the sliders to go, instead of actually sliding them, but that's not really a big deal.

Just to have it recreated. Like Google did and face book. They both worked great on the iPhone, but the mobile iPhone version works and looks a lot better.

I'm a 31 year old married man that is a father of four wonderful boys.
I used to be quite athletic in my younger years but years of stagnating and working at a desk as a graphic designer has taking it's toll.

You could have a twitter account and users could text their info over using twitter. Nice and simple

Here I am playing some Journey on my air guitar.
I'm a 22 year old with lots of determination and discipline 6 months out of the year. Needless to say, I've fallen off the wagon again and it's about time to get back on.

I have had to switch my weight tracking to http://www.thiscityisgoingonadiet.com/
They have an iPhone app and we use it all the time. My personal trainer and I enter in weight every MWF right there.
Sorry, but Traineo just isn't delivering at the moment. They could really dominate with such a tool.

I dunno. It seems like I can post with my iPhone, although it's slow, because I suck at typing when the CalTrain is rocking side to side and bumping up and down.
The tracks look much smoother than they feel at 75 mph.
