Brand new member (for about an hour at least), just wanted to chime in, introduce myself, and tell my story for why I'm here if you're interested :)

I came over with the influx from digg.com, and have been trying for the last year or so to get moving again. My wife and I have three kids now, and I used to be in pretty good shape. I put on some sympathy weight with the first pregnancy and our first year with a boy to look after. I made a commitment to stay in better shape and start running again. I did very well through our second child, a girl, and was running 5k's in better times than I did in high-school and college. Well, our third kid, another boy, came around, and shifting from the man-to-man coverage to a zone defense in the house took its toll on me. 3 years later, and I'm 25 pounds overweight and feeling like crap most of the time. I tried to get back into it earlier this year, and even did a triathlon. I finished it, but I had no business being out there as my training simply fell apart about 6 weeks before the event.

My wife is in great shape, she uses the gym as her daily escape from the kids and the stress of things in general. I have been trying since we moved to AZ to get back into a steady routine, but between work and kids I have not been able to make it stick.

Until now (at least I'm starting with a positive attitude, right?).

Anyway, hello to everyone, I look forward to being active here so I can drop these pounds, get more energy, and be happier and healthier for my family.

Andy

That has to be the most entertaining intro I've read in a long time. Welcome to the fight, brother. You'll be waving goodbye to those excess ell-bees in short order.

Try working out in the morning before work. It doesn't sound nice, but a nice surge of endorphins makes me feel better throughout the day and I feel like I have more energy than if I had slept the extra hour.

Hello Everyone,

I too am new here. I have been a member of diet.com for the last year+ and have been very succesful through my weight loss there, although my husband did hire a personal trainer for me this year and that helped kick my diet in high gear. Although I shouldn't use the word "diet" this is after all a lifestyle change for me.

I struggled with my weight all throughout highschool. After that I did Weight Watchers and was very successful. Lost 87 pounds and was happier than ever, and then I went through a divorce.

Since then I gained 40-45 pounds back I met the man of my dreams 3 1/2 years ago, and we got married 9 months later. I have dieted ever since we met. Then as I said before he hired a personal trainer for me, and I have lost 31 pounds since the end of May. Now I only have 11 pounds left that I want to lose, and the less I have to lose the harder it becomes.

So here I am long winded, and all... looking for further motivation to help with the last 11!

Holli
