Hi! I recently graduated from UCSD this past june and am hoping to work off the weight i gained from late night runs for mexican food and pizza (cause being from San Diego, we have tons of great mexican food restaurants... open 24 hours! horrible yet so good!). And being 22, I got used to going out at night and having a few drinks... sugar galore!
Anyways, I used to be a competative tennis player and still enjoy playing it on ocassion when I do get the opportunity. I am one of those fools that actually likes to spend time at the gym. I dance all the time. I am a bgirl (which is extremely fun and realized that it really is intense cardio) and tahitian dancer. My biggest goal is to focus on what I am eating. I just got so used to eating fast food and eating late at night... hey, i was a college student that sucked at cooking. But i did come to love my George Foreman =)
anyways, im excited to start up a new healthy life style.

i think its really nice to have a community where we can discuss these workout topics. and being able to keep track of workouts and food consumption is really awesome.
good luck everyone!

It is our habits that will make or break us - and mine were killing me.
It has been a six month commitment, but I no longer drink soda, fast foods are once every other week (if that), I get to bed at a decent hour, don't eat after 8pm and make sure to grab something for breakfast. Just with these changes, I have lost 15 pounds.
And now with the hardest part out of the way, I am ready to get down to business and revamp my diet, eat less calories, start exercising and not have to worry so much about my old habits sabotaging my progress.
My first goal is 145. I will reach it.
145 achieved. looking for 135.

Love Traineo. You make something that is serious or potentially embarrassing - fun and rewarding (interface is fun and user friendly with a sprinkle of humor).... Great job!

Hello! My name is Iris. I'm a 28-yr-old mother to 2 beautiful little girls. I started my weight loss journey August 2006 at 200 lbs. And this September (2007), I am now down to 127 lbs. I am very proud of myself.
I haven't been on Traineo in months. I was only on for a short period of time, and then lost internet connection for a little while, and then couldn't remember my username and password LOL. But now I'm back. I'd like to work on becoming a little more lean, maybe getting down to 120 lbs. Most of all I want to work on my stomache. So, starting tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 20, I'm going back to keeping a written food/exercise/feelings journal.
Things I've done to get where I am today....I quit drinking sodas cold turkey, I cut way back on junk food, and I read the nutrition labels. I only eat the serving size. I only drink water and lots of it. I keep count of the calories going in and the calories I'm burning. I workout at the gym 4-6 days a week. And actually....I now work at a ladies fitness gym (since March 2007) and I'm working on getting cetified as a personal trainer. I love to tell my story and motivate others. It feels great and I just LOVE my job. I've taught one aerobic class on a whim to feel in for someone and may be teaching my own class by the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008.
I find ways to motivate myself daily. I can never have enough! So I'm here, LOL But really and truly, I'd love to support and motivate anyone who needs it.

Hello....female here......
I was actually looking for a great weight loss group, and was in the yahoo directory and realized nothing had changed there....it's not personal and a lot of spam comes through. So, I started just searching "Weight loss communities" and stumbled up Traineo, and actually clicked on because the name was unique. I've only been here a week, and even though I've lost most of my weight (a little over 10 pounds to go), I love the way everything is set up. I like the accountability! And even though I haven't met many people yet, I can tell everyone is really nice and they understand each other because they have or either they are going through the same thing. Can't wait to get to know the rest of you. Thanks for making Traineo.

Hi!
I was wondering the same thing too. I found out about this site through a google search. I keep a blog at extrapounds.com which is highly female orientated. This site seems more fitness orientated - do you think that is why it attracts more men?
Just curious!

I am 34 years old, married and a father of a 2.5 year old. They are the motivators for me to reach my goal. I started the new journey on 8/21/06 @307 lbs and as of June '08, I have lost around 108 lbs. I have been able to keep 100 lb weight loss since Sept. '07. What keeps me on track is the Traineo community, vision of a healthy and fit future and the mini-goals below. *GOAL 1 = 244 lbs, Date = 2/15/07 Date Met = 2/7/07 *GOAL 2 = 229 lbs, Date = 3/22/07 Date Met = 3/30/07 ________________________ *GOAL 3 = 199 lbs, Date = 6/30/08 Date Met = 6/5/08 *GOAL 4 = 185 lbs, Date = 09/30/08 Date Met = TBD (185 is my "ultimate" goal. Then build muscle.)
Hobbies/Interests: Baseball, White Sox, bowling, WII, Xbox 360, PSP, XM, Opie and Anthony radio show, Ron and Fez radio show, variety of music, working out, running.
Personal Records: 5K - 26:18 (4/14/08-8:29/mile pace) 10K- 54:56-9/16/07-(8:43/mile pace) 10 Mile Run - CXLD due to injury Marathon - 10/12/08
Advice: - Set a Deadline: "A goal is a dream with a deadline - Napolean Hill." - Set Mini Goals - They help you accomplish small milestones on your way to the "ultimate" goal. - Track your progress. - Plan everything out. Daily workout routines, meals, etc. - Be patient. Your goals will eventually be met, if you work hard.

I'm a 24 yr old Communication Disorders graduate student in south Georgia. I am currently living with my boyfriend and my wacky dog. In my free time, enjoy playing on the internet, spending time with my fellow Comd girlfriends, chitchatting with my wonderful mom, spending quiet time with my boyfriend, watching bad cinema, scifi, and court drama (court tv, law and order, etc), quiet meditation, reading self-help books, and spending time outside (NOT sports).
When it comes to exercise, I am not a huge fan. I find I feel better when I DO it, but getting the point of doing it habitually, well... I have not gotten there yet! And when it comes to food, I LOVE it. I can count the food I don't like on one hand. Food is an addiction I am trying to control (sense 3rd grade).
