I was in Costco with my mother, and they had these free sample quiche things (they were small, so I figured what the heck?). The lady told me it was really, really hot. Now, I put a bit in my mouth and swallowed (I don't really chew anything...except hard candy...it's a really bad habit). It was one of those times where it burned all the way down my throat into my stomach. I've had that before, from potatoes, but never that painful. I don't tolerate pain well if it's in my torso, so I fainted. In Costco. That's embarrasing enough. But I dropped the still burning-hot quiche sample, and my arm landed in it. Hello second-degree burn. I already went to the doctor, and the whole office was laughing at me. I find it amusing. I've never fainted before, and my doctor said to write it off as something that happened once, and as long as I don't do anything stupid like swallowing burning-hot food, it probably won't happen again.
Anyone else have a similar story?

Oh my gosh Mikaela! That sucks! You need to chew your food!
Umm... embarrassing story... so many... When I was in 7th grade (I went to a private Christian school), my Bible teacher was teaching us about how some people believe in "Abraham's Bosom." I'm a teacher's pet and a question box. So I immediately piped up with "What's a bosom?" And he replied with, "It's a woman's breasts." The whole class was roaring with laughter. The teacher and I were both as red as a tomato. Haha.

Haha that does sound embarrassing, especially at that age.

The other day, my girlfriend demanded that I try a piece of her eggplant while we were out to eat. She has this habit of prepping her own fork with her food and piloting it towards my mouth even if I verbally refuse it. However, I perpetuate this habit by always tasting her food anyway.
So on this day, she stuck the eggplant in my mouth. And it was ridiculously hot. Probably as hot as your quiche. The embarrassing part was when I yelled "OHHH IT'S REARRY HOTTT!"
I'm not a fan of making a scene. Unless it is intentional.
But yeah, chewing your food might prevent that in the future.

Stay at home mom... squeezing in workout time when everyone is still asleep... which is where I WANT to be so bad... working on my food intake... in that I stress eat... need to be WAY more aware of that... better food and less food will make a huge difference.

I went to the Dr. last year to have a VERY SIMPLE procedure done to my nose that would allow me to breath better... It'a done with a few novacane(sp) type injections... I'm thinkin' no biggy... As soon as he shoots the numbing solutions into my nose, the roof of my mouth and throat go numb... i went into complete panic mode, surely I was not going to be able to breath in a few short seconds... started to hypervenilate (again...sp) and passed out... fortunately my sister was with me and caught me before I crushed my face on the tiled floor. I came to with the Dr. all but crushing my face with some strange technique to improve air flow... salts under my nose... and my sister looking as white as a ghost... apparently I fainted with my eyes wide open... she thought I had a stroke... Then I still had to get the procedure done... It was a little embarassing... But I can breath better... so that's a good thing.

My ex-husband and I were out to dinner with a group of friends and we'd gone to the country club. I'd ordered fish, and when the waiter brought our meals he set my food down in front of me and announced "Voila!" I turned to the guy next to me and muttered snarkily, "'Voila'...how pretentious can you get?" The waiter, unfortunately, overheard me and to my embarrassment clarified that he had actually said, "Walleye," since that was what I had ordered. Yes, I felt like an idiot.

I have a pretty embarassing story...
In High School I had to make this really big presentation in front of the class. I was nervous all day. Right before the class I went to the bathroom. When I came back to make the presentation, I had accidentally left my fly down on my jeans. I was wearing boxers that day, and these particular boxers had no button in the front. Lets just say the fly was down and the opening of the boxers was pretty open.
Still can't believe I didn't feel a breeze....
Now that is embarassing. And yes, the class noticed.
