Hi All,

My youngest started it last Sunday and Monday, then Hubby Tuesday, me Wed, Thursday and yesterday and still feel bad today although I am at last on the mend. Then my eldest was ill yesterday too, but he is already much better today. I slept for 12 hours last night through to this morning, yet I still don't feel all that better. At least I have stopped vomiting I suppose.

We all have a really bad bout of Tonsillitis. Oh the joy. I know the school hols are about chilling and spending time together but this just takes the biscuit.

My 9 year old is asleep on me on the settee at the mo bless him. My house is a wreck, but I simply do not have the energy to do anything about it.

Ho Hum. Good excuse to watch Stargate on Sky 2. LOL

This obviously has completely wrecked my Traineo logs, diet etc. I know I am not the fittest person, but I have not been this ill for this long since I don't know when. Any tips or remedies to help me recover quickly. Dosed up on Paracetamol, Strepsils, Chicken soup etc. So bored of this now.

Hi Sarah!
Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad but i can definately relate. In March, I started a bad bout with a kidney infection that i couldn't shake until the second round of antibiotics and then I developed bronchitis on top of it. My best advice to you is this: hang worrying about the diet and exercise and get yourself healthy. I literally almost two months off from the whole thing just so i could ensure i was 100% well before I went back to it. Focus on getting plenty of fluids [water is key but something high in vitamin c like cranberry juice is a huge help] in and really work the soups. so long as they're low sodium and not cream based, they're not really that bad for your diet. Get plenty of rest and mind the doctor's wishes. Remember, if you're sleeping 12 hours, you're not constantly stuffing your face with comfort foods so you're not really having much negative impact on yourself doing that. Oh, and for sore throats, the thing i've found works best is to mix about 1 tablespoon of honey into a mug of hot water and stir in a couple good splashes of lemon juice [the pure stuff]. It helps soothe and coat your throat while the steam will help you breathe easier. Remember that antibiotics can cause weight gain so don't fret too much if the scale moves in the wrong direction. Ten days after I was finally off all the medications, i weighed myself and i'd only put on 4 pounds after two months of being ill. The important thing is to rest up and do what you need to in order to get yourself healthy. Then you'll be able to go back to your workouts and diet full strength and you won't run the risk of making yourself sicker by not taking care of your body.
