Now when you say 10 do you really mean Ten or do you mean two in binary? heh

so, 2's complement is the manner in which negative numbers are denoted in binary. To determine the 2's complement of a number, flip all the bits and add 1.

Mount Vesuvius

Actually, I think it was some volcano in Indonesia or the Phillipines... I remember seeing something on this on the Discovery channel... Perhaps the issue, though, is 'recorded' history...

Krakatoa, killed 100,000 people back in 1883, destroyed an entire island, displaced 20 cubic kilometers of rock, and created 3 or 4 100 ft. tsunamis. Considerably more powerful than any of Vesuvius' eruptions.

It's really a fascinating event, it created tidal surges that were detected around the world, and was considered to be the loudest noise ever head in human history. I think people heard it 3000 miles away or something.

Good god I love disasters. Does anyone know the largest recorded "wave?" I only use quotes because it wasn't tidal, and though it was technically created by a geological shift, it wasn't an earthquake like most tsunamis.

Lituya bay, 1720 ft, caused by half a mountain collapsing into a narrow bay. The natural shape of the bay essentially focused that bastard into a mountain of water. Some poor SOB on his fishing boat actually RODE it, you can find out more if you google Lituya Bay, I think they did a discovery channel bit on it a while back.
