Actually, it's Ithaca, NY (even though I've been told most of my life that it is Huntsville, AL). Sorry it took me so long to get back on this. I had training. LINK.

a. 10,000 to 50,000
b. 50,000 to 100,000
c. 100,000 to 200,000

For bonus: How many hairs does the average human shed every day?

b. 10 to 50

Okay, I was hoping for more than 1 person to answer. Ara, that's wrong, but I guess since nobody else is playing, you can have another go at it.

Um... total guess here: gerbils. Are we supposed to say how long the gestation period is?

What about spiders? Wait no they lay eggs. Are we counting things that lay eggs? Cause if not that knocks out most fish, birds, and insects.

Dave, I am dying to know here!

Are you counting spiders and seahorses as animals here?

What about mice that can't take long. I know rabbits are 28 days, but rodents must be quicker than that.

This is a tough one!

Gestation implies placental mammals, I'm pretty certain -- so yes, that eliminates insects, reptiles, and poor old monotremes. *sniff*

I'll guess that very short-lived mammals would have the shortest gestation, so voles? Shrews is a good guess too.
