I couldn't tell you the last names of the characters though, except Carrie.

Carrie Bradshaw, Miranda Hobbs, Samantha Jones, Charlotte York/MacDougall/Goldenblatt...

Sorry I know that question is long gone - and wasn't even the actual question - I am just so delighted to finally know something on this thread

Can't wait for the movie!!!

Since Mark doesn't seem to be coming back, I'll ask another one. This is dumb.

What days of the year can you balance an egg on it's end?

Haha! That's an old wives' tale! Supposedly the spring and fall equinox, but I've tried it before, and it didn't work.

Y'all are too smart! I had to do it recently just to prove to my husband that the equinox thing was a myth.

We're a pretty small group, so I'm figuring that everyone who was going to read this has. The answer is Angel Falls in Venezuela.

Do one of you want to proceed with the next question?

That is correct!! I thought that was a pretty easy question really.

Roughly the visible region is 300 nm to 650. so that's 350 nm total. The electromagnetic spectrum goes from 10 Megameters to 1 picometer. So the percentage of the spectrum occupied by visible light is tiny, just 3.5 X 10^-9 divided by 10 ^19----So that's 3.5 X 10^-28. (link)

So the actual answer is 3.5E-26% of the electromagnetic spectrum is visible light.

While I have been known to use vending machines more than I should, I do not know who made the wretched things.

There are some weird ones too!! Who would ever think that a vending machine for used knickers would actually make a business??

Now DEAN, I was referring to the less racey machines--of COURSE.

I thought it cool how they'd change with the seasons, like coffee machines, (in cans), which would offer cold versions in the hotter months, for eg.

ROFL! I wouldn't know this one either, but I caught it on Ancient Inventions a couple months ago.

It was Heron of Alexandria. He and Archimedes were way a head of their times. URL

Here's another, but easier-

What was the name for the sword used by the Roman legions?

*Yes, I watch a lot of history channel* :-P
