Hi!

I just wanted to post some info to let everyone know I'm participating as a Team Captain in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life at Southern CT State University this weekend.

This charity is very close to my heart; I've lost several family members and friends to the disease and know of very few people who have not been impacted in some way by cancer. This is the fourth year I've been involved with this charity and particularly this amazing event as Captain of team "Won't You Benign?" (and my second year as a Committee Chair), and as many of you know I also recently donated my hair to the Locks of Love program (10" ponytail!!). Promoting awareness, supporting research, and sharing in hope for survivors are some of the foundations for fighting cancer, and part of the mission of the Relay.

Info on the event (from their website):

"...Relay For Life®, the American Cancer Society's signature event, is a fun-filled overnight experience designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer. At Relay, people from within the community gather to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and to fight back against this disease. Relay participants help raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society in its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue. During Relay For Life ® events, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. The events are held overnight to represent the fact that cancer never sleeps. Through the survivors' lap and the luminaria ceremony, we honor the people who have faced cancer first hand, and we remember those who have been lost to this disease."

If anyone would be interested in learning more or donating to my team, you can visit the website at -

Please feel free to forward this along to anyone else you think might be interested.

Thanks!
-dave

A worthy cause for sure... I've lost my share of good people to cancer, and I pledge my financial support to Dave every year. Please consider doing so yourself...

In addition to the fund raising, I got my bf and some of his family member to participate run/walk also.
