After 2 years of crappy meds that bloated me up 70 pounds and mounds of stress... I am ready to go back to my slim self again! Plus, I want to look good in a bathing suit for my 3 year anniversary vacation in florida :-)

.....The excuses are beginning. Starting to lose motivation and finding reasons to not exercise... starting to tell myself taking this day off and this day off won't matter... starting to feel that I won't improve anymore than this.... Help me please!

Well, days off here and there WILL matter!
Each time you start to find an excuse, ask yourself if skipping your exercise will get you closer to your goals or further away from them! Be sure you have your goals clearly stated and written down. Look at them!
Then put your workout clothes on and tell yourself you will do a minimum of 10 minutes. Chances are, once you are through that first 10 minutes, you'll go ahead and do the rest.
What the heck do you mean you won't improve any more? Practically everyone can improve! This is most true of those of us who are the least fit! We can make improvements in leaps and bounds, whereas the elite Olympic type athletes have to struggle for each tiny increment of improvement.
Now, what the heck are ya doin' online when you could be working out?
I just did mine! An hour of bodyweight resistance training using my TRX suspension trainer. Followed by 20 minutes of Nordic Track ski machine.

I've always been bigger. Maybe not classified as being fat because I carry it pretty well. But, well, I'm fat. There's no fooling myself. In January, months of hard work paid off as my wife got pregnant with what will be our first child. I had been exercising a bit until that point, but I decided to ramp it up a notch and get my weight to where I can be healthy and be around a long time for my wife and kid.
I've been known to drop 40-50 pounds in 5 months or so on a few occasions, only to slowly gain that weight back over a couple years. This time is different. I know everybody says that and usually that statement doesn't come to fruit, but I've got that incentive...becoming a daddy.
Got a blog rolling- rokandroll.blogspot.com
I post on it a few times a week. Mostly fitness stuff. I try to be somewhat humorous. Check it out if you're REALLY bored.

I've been through the excuse stage. I just forced myself to do my exercise and then do it again the next day. Eventually the excuses disappeared. I wanted to exercise because it made me feel good.
Remember when you posted your before and after pics? That felt good, didn't it?
Don't make me come down there and give you some motivation!

Success is not a race, be patient. Success leads to success. Success is always a work in progress. Success doesn't come to you--you go to it. Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process. Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying. Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED! If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

Sooooooo sooo true...this is exactly what I do when I am feeling unmotivated...I tell myself 10 minutes...and then 45 mins later I am stepping off and feeling 'high' - DO IT Stina......you won't regret....remember how good you feel when you can fit into clothes that no longer fit? Or when you can see visible physical evidence that your hard work is paying dividends.
This is the best gift you can give yourself...

It's alright folks, mild relapse, just a mild relapse!
Took your advice and decided since it was such a nice night I was going to walk to the end of my street and back... that turned into a 20 minute jog which turned it an hour of cardio workout at home lol.
I think I am just at the point where even though I see it in inches, my weight is frustrating me and making me feel like giving up (yes I know, dumb excuse but its how i feel). I know it shouldn't... but I just want the bloody thing to move!

It took me a whole year to get to my first major goal, so GOOD ON YA for getting back on that wonderful horse, Stina. You owe yourself the very best you have to offer.

alright, stina, i'm going to post a couple of pictures too even though i still have a fairly significant ways to go. had i not cheated on the nutrition aspect so much, i'd be further along, but i figure i'll be looking trim and tone by the end of july.
i'm posting this because like you, i've been very frustrated with not seeing the scales move.there is only a 10 pound difference difference between the first and second picture. only 10 pounds... although it's not readily apparent from these two pictures, i have gained a ton of muscle. and i'm still in the beginner stage of weight lifting and am making large strength gains every trip to the gym. i'm really going on a cutting cycle in a week and a half and will hopefully shed the rest of the cellulite fairly rapidly.
so, keep in mind, changes are happening even if they're not reflected in the scale dropping quickly.

Another Dave, NICE PICS!!!!! That's amazing progress and only 10 lbs!! Obviously you must have gained quite a bit of muscle! Awesome!

I can relate. I've lost 2 lbs in 2 months. It is sooo very frustrating. Very very very frustrating. However, I'm going to get BF and measurements re-done this afternoon and hopefully I'll have lost 50 lbs of fat and gained 48 lbs of muscle (exaggeration, people, but you get my point ). Something that helps me keep going are my training goals. Training for this triathlon has been one of the best motivational tools ever.

Just keep going Stina!
It does get frustrating, but this is definitely a game of patience. Keep reminding yourself every day about the progress you've made and how you are feeling healthier and better.
You see, one day we'll reach our goals and the scale won't move then either! But we'll still need to keep up the healthy eating and exercise or see the scale move in a direction we don't want it to!
This is practice for that day. Focus on other progress besides the scale.
