If you aren't using Firebug to debug web pages (esp. for Javascript, Ajax and CSS), then you have no business being a web developer .

Edit: Oh, and it happens to be #52 on the list.

I wish it could debug my vb.net code Not into Ajax yet.... but will have a project that includes it in the next couple months. I can't wait!

But you are probably right that I have no business being a web developer

Haha, sorry, it won't help you with that. If you're talking about server side VB.net code, you might find it useful to write debug info to HTTP headers (which are easily viewable in Firebug) instead of printing stuff straight to the page.

I think you'll find it very useful for debugging Ajax, though. Since Ajax stuff all happens invisibly in the background it's nice to have something that tracks everything within it without having to add a bunch of print (ie, alert or write) statements throughout your code each time you run into problems.
