I'm showing a 3.5lb loss for this week, there has been a steady decline so far this week, but the morning weigh-ins always seemed the same until today (and last night). It seems that my body has finally decided to start working and has caught up with my efforts. I can even see some extra muscle definition on my calves which is quite surprising. This is quite a relief, I was beginning to wonder when I would see them darn scales shift!

Just 3 more lbs to go and i'll be about of the 240's! Yeeha!

Sorry if this is bragging, I'm just excited that I've finally moved on a notch.

not bragging at all! great job colin!! congrats!! im very happy for you!! just a suggestion-why not weigh just once a week? your weight will fluctuate from day to day so it may be better to weigh just once a week, at the same time, wearing the same thing. that might help. it might be frustrating to see the daily weighs b/c you wont have too much change. once a week you may have more.

Cheers chaps! I do usually only really take notice of the weekly weigh-in, but was finally pleased to see the scales move, it's a nice boost of motivation, and I'll be working harder in the gym now because of it!!

Thanks again for all the help, I'm not sure I could have kept my confidence/intensity up without the support and info from this site!

Congrats Colin! Keep up the good work. Slow and steady wins the race. Even though we want to see change yesterday that isn't the case, its a long road ahead for all of us and as long as we are willing to stick with that road we will eventually get to our destination.

You right my friend, I'm definitly thinking long-term on this, but it's nice to have a little progress early on to keep the fires burning! The main thing for me I guess is that I now know that the gym and diet are having a positive affect and I can just keep on doing what i'm doing

It is a great feeling seeing those numbers drop, just dont base it off that, base it off of how you feel... do you feel physically better since you started?

Ara - I feel much better than when I first started. Working out on the various cardio machines means is very easy to see progress, i.e. heart rate is more stable, I can run for longer, more intensive on the elliptical etc.. it's just nice to have that validated with some real world 'metrics'

Angie - thanks, your help with the diet plan seems to have really worked!

How are you feeling? Do you feel more energetic during the course of a normal day? Are you getting tired / hungry a couple of hours after a meal?

I feel full amost the whole day really, there's never a period where I feel really hungry and have to eat straight away, my lunch during the day is sometimes hard to eat it all, but I do have a lot of energy when working at the gym in the late afternoon (5.00pm usually).

It's a bit of pain cooking every evening (to prepare for the next day), but it's been great having plenty of fresh natural food instead of fast-food that I was having before the new regime.

I'm going to keep with it for another couple of weeks, then I'll change it around a little but try to keep the same nutritional values.

PERFECT! This is exactly how you want to be feeling. You are stabilizing your blood sugar levels, and as long as you're doing that the fat will come off easier. If you ever start starving, think back on what you ate last and when. You've either waited too long between meals (6+ hours for me!) , or the last thing you ate was a bad choice for you.

Keep up the good work!
