Well I got a job offer on the spot today in my interview.
I got offered the position of Data Analyst.
That is a load of stress off my back. Now I have to focus on giving my current employer a two weeks notice. The thing that sucks is that they have been pretty good to me so I don't know how to exactly go through with this.

Not much to say, I like playing video games and watching/playing sports. I work as a web developer for a small company.
I think when I get into shape I want to become a volunteer firefighter.
Goal: Lose 35lbs before Cardio King

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Change is a wonderful thing!!! More on that later, though...
On the topic of leaving a job - no worries! You don't owe them anything, they pay you for a service you provide. Either of you can stop providing that service at any time, and part amicably. If anything, they should be happy for you!
And, most importantly - Congratulations!! A new job is a great accomplishment and an exciting adventure, can't wait to hear how it goes

Quoting: RMontgomery I hate changing jobs.
Oh yeah, one more thing - hate is a wasted emotion. So much energy used for negativity! Remember that the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.

I love to eat. Carbs is my weakness link that I always lose control in front of it.
I started running for fitness in 2007. Ever since I finished the 1st marathon (San Diego RnR 2007), I am addicted to running.
I started traineoing in Nov 2007. I have reached my goal weight in Jun 08 already. But, now, I don't care much about my weight. I care about it only if it affects my running performance.

Words to live by: "Now's the time to grab the steering wheel of your life. Delve deep within yourself and take responsibility for your health and behavior. Ask yourself hard questions and face the truth of what needs to be done. Weight loss is not always easy or fair but you are the only one that can lose weight for you. Take a turn for the better!"
Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 240, 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195, 190
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.

Change is good!
I changed jobs in October, and it was hard, but you just have to buckle down and do it. I covertly slipped my two weeks' notice into my supervisor's inbox, and a couple hours later she came and asked me about it. She was happy for me though.
Just do it! What's the worse that can happen? They get upset with you? Who cares? You're leaving! This is no time to be nervous. This is time for celebration! WOOO, party at Rob's!
Congratulations!
Ara, your time will come.

Success is not a race, be patient. Success leads to success. Success is always a work in progress. Success doesn't come to you--you go to it. Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process. Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying. Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED! If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

I heard someone talk about pissers rule once.
If I have a choice of pissing you off or pissing myself off, I'll piss you off!
Of course, I wouldn't advocate annoyong people for no good reason, but the fear of mildly upsetting someone is not enough to block growth and progress.
Good luck to you Rob!! Set your sails and start moving wherever you want to go, its your journey after all.

Thank you for the kind words everyone. It certainly is exciting not only switching jobs, but switching careers as well. I have zero experience with data analysis but they are taking a chance on me based off how they feel I will mesh with the team.
I have a lot of hard work ahead of me to prove myself, but I think I will be just fine. Afterall, their best analyst came straight out of school with a Marketing Communications degree (which is what I have).
On that note, I will probably have to slow down on posting here for a couple weeks once I start the position. Don't want to look bad in front of the new boss. I will still post a lot at nights though.

I have started two new blogs, one to follow my running and a Quest to a Marathon at blog.262quest.com and one to follow my weight loss at blog.2big.org, please check them out.
I am an IT professional / Developer which means I sit in front of a computer most of the day. This means very little exercise and plenty of time to eat.
I decided at the first of the year that I was going to lose weight. I started by changing my eating habits and started walking.
I did so for about a month and then added some weight lifting and started to run a little bit.
I have so far lost 29 lbs in just over 3 months and would like to lose just over another 50 lbs by the end of the year.
I have started running quite a bit more and am training to run the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th (10k)
I need all the encouragement I can get because to do this I am getting up every morning during the week at 4:30 to go running. With a wife and kids this is really the only time that I can consistently do what I need to do.
I am driven, but at times get a bit discouraged because I don't have anybody to work out with or run with.
All in All, I know I can do it, I just have to remember that when I don't do so well, it is in the past and what matters is going forward.
A more up to date thread on me: http://www.traineo.com/14_2366_0.html

Congrats Rob!!!
You are going to do wonderful. You are going to look back on this time in your life and wonder what you were so worried about.
I made a hugh change in careers 8 years ago and I look back on that as one of the best decisions of my life!
