I just completed my second Half Ironman and hit my target of Sub 6 hours. Currently training for a Half Marathon (everything in halves) and then a tougher Half Ironman in December. I am wasting a lot of energy on these races carrying excess fat around the course. I know I would be faster if I was lighter. I have lost about 20lbs in last two years but still have maybe another 10 that could go.

I've already been a traineo member and lost 8 kg in 2 months or so and then regained it due to a lot of stress. Now I am back on track and the experiences I made last year showed me that I CAN do it. That is why I am convinced that I WILL do it!

I just did 6.13K and burnt 651 in a 1 hour stint. New record! And thats not using traineo's how 'hard was it' compensate calorie scheme!
We'd own USA.

Thats good progress!! I have been out of the game for a while with an ankle injury though I can't wait to get back. I was aiming to achieve 8 miles in an hour, road running. We'll see how the recovery goes.

I'm moving to Asia sometime around May 2008. I refuse to be the stereotypical fat American.

Lol, they play american football anyway so we'd own them at rugby.
I thought Kilometers was f all. You'd think i'd have figured it out running the speed i do. Jesus i feel dumb!
So how do we do this competition?

It is on hold at the moment as I haven't been running on my ankle. The competition was going to be based on total miles covered regardless of time. So say we'd have a team of 5 and they would have the same, then it is who runs the furthest, literally.
It will be on soon!!

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Oh Cheeky!!! Yes the joints do creak a lot more these days, but there's no point being too good against a US side that can only play with 50lbs of padding in a match.
Ha ha, old pops here will still show your kids any day!!
