I'm a plant enthusiast dedicated to eating whole, fresh foods. As for exercise, I regularly participate in: swimming, water aerobics, yoga, the elliptical machine, the stair stepper, running, and weight training. I try to switch up my routine a lot so that I don't get bored. My biggest obstacle to weight loss is eating when I'm lonely or sad, but I've started keeping a list on my fridge of other things I can do to occupy my time. So far it's really been helping!
Aside from health and fitness, I was married in December 2007 and am enjoying being married and decorating our apartment. I am currently finishing my last semester as an undergraduate, and hope to begin an English MA program Fall 2009. I love reading, quilting, cooking, hiking, swimming, decorating, gardening, and striving to protect the environment. I'm also really pleased that Barack Obama is going to be our next president.
Let me know if you need a motivator! Good luck in your health and fitness efforts!

I can't believe Mitt Romney dropped, but I think it's a good idea -- he was going to spend everything he had. I wonder what made him come to his senses.
I just really really really hope that no matter what happens, John McCain doesn't become president.

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

I really don't see any strong showing/interest in the republican race; I don't think you have much of a worry (unless Clinton gets the Dem. nomination)...

Hi, everyone. My name is Brandi. I'm 26 years old and am going to marry my best friend in the world, David. I had lost 40lb, was 7lbs away from my goal, and a few personal issues came about...
I went from walking 4 miles a day, 6 times a week and up/down 14 flights of stairs 2 times a week to nothing and gaining all my weight (and then some) back.
I have recently been diagnosed with patellar tracking disorder that does not allow me to do many stairs or run at all. Therefore, I am forced to walk, bike, weight training, cardio and use the elliptical which allows me many options.
After missing my last goal, I want to get it straight this time. My wonderful fiance has lost a lot of weight as well and has run two half marathons and a triatholon. He has another one in February and it running the Ironman 70.3 in October. I can't do what he does but I at least want to be able to join him in being active. I want to be healthy with him. :-)
My goal is to be at my ideal weight 3 months before our wedding day; August 15, 2009. We have already made a pact that I will NOT get married unless I meet this goal. That means some pretty pissed off guests if I don't. So, I have a lot of motivation now and can use even more!

Quoting: nicholman I suppose it's interesting to watch the country polarize around Clinton and Obama!
I'd rather the media get involved in polarizing around Clinton and Obama than before when they kept polarizing between Britney Spears's sanity and insanity...lol...

Not much to say, I like playing video games and watching/playing sports. I work as a web developer for a small company.
I think when I get into shape I want to become a volunteer firefighter.

I just donated $10 to Obama... this is one person I am really looking forward to seeing the inside of the White House. I think he is the one candidate to change America.
He already proved he was different from the other candidates by not accepting lobbyists money, he was the only one against the war from the beginning and he is great at speeches.. (I know this doesn't really speak of his character but if you can get a person in the white house who can inspire people you can inspire change.)
McCain I don't agree with keeping troups in Iraq for "100 plus years if thats what it takes." I also don't like racism so just that alone shows his character. I also think that what he says and does will be two different things completely.
