Okay...who else besides me went a little overboard at their superbowl party?
I know I consumed a little too much food. I did drink a lot of water though, so that might have been why I felt a little more full. It was a good time though!!!

Last night I ate:
1 bowl of gumbo (with white rice)
2 chicken wings
1 chicken drumstick
5-7 crackers with spinach dip
5-7 crackers with chicken salad
3-5 carrot sticks with a little ranch
4 bottles of water
1 plate of nachos
1 box of popcorn chicken
1 bag of doritos
This was all spread out over about...4 or so hours.
I was doing good until I had those nachos...but they tasted SO good...

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

I guess I don't feel so bad... I had about 10 baked tostitos w/ cheese dip, and two pices of the giant sub i picked up... couple (light) beers..
Saturday night was worse, after 10 or so drinks and a couple shots, we made shrimp and scallop scampi at about 4am... oops

My biggest dietary downfall was a 23 oz Newcastle Brown Well, and some fries. Otherwise, I was pretty good.
And, yeah, while the game was exciting, it could have ended better

I had a bunch of waffle fries and drinks at the sports bar for the UFC fight on Saturday night. Pretty sure that ruined a week's worth of effort.
So for the Superbowl I had a Coors Light and couple shots of vodka. My food intake was normal due to the previous night's disaster.
Today it is snowing in Minneapolis, so I am going sledding with the neighbor kids. I have a 25lb weight vest I wear to make the climbs harder. The kids always think I'm slow, I never mention the vest. ha
I'll have to make a few more runs with the sled.

Well done! I think the grinder on wheat bread was a good choice and will probably try to do that for future SB's - better than pizza or wings...

For some reason I woke up yesterday and could not satisfy my hunger. I started off with a bowl of cereal (which usually does it for my morning) then ate toast then some left overs lemon chicken then some pizza then 2 hotdogs, a lot of chips pizza before we went out to a friends house for the game then pizza at the game! Then two hot dogs when I came home..... I was still hungry after that....

Stacy's treadmill thing got me thinking about a workout theme party.
Why not have a treadmill party during a big game like the Superbowl?
Everyone set 'em up the day before (at the house of the friend with the biggest living room) and have a "couch potato quarterback challenge."
Whoever can burn the most calories/go farthest during the game wins everyone's entry fee ($100 ea. should make it worth the effort.)

I didn't keep count, but I was at a friends, so I know my eating wasn't perfect. However, whenever I hang out at her place, I save my calories by eating like a rabbit early in the day-her mom is anti-healthy.

One Year 19 Lbs lost.
For December 07 to December 08 the job is to lose another 17 lbs.
-- Coming up for nearly a year of Traineo. 22 lbs lost, 13 to go!
What a year! I want to thank Traineo and it's members, and my doctors and friends, and gym, and my walking and running training partner -- my dog -- who all have have been a big part of my recovery from a bad case of pneumonia last August, from high blood pressure in May and June, and support through herniated cervical discs in July August and the present.
Somehow, its been possible to keep the faith and keep going through the neck and arm pain, but even on some of those bad pain days, getting the exercise at the gym, on a C25K run, on a bike ride, or in the surf helps make it bearable.
A year ago -- at least sports-wise, for life is altogether another thing -- I was losing my sense of identity as a surfer and windsurfer, gaining a sense of identity as a cyclist, a runner, 9 months later reentering the surf, losing my ability to ride ... things came and went between hospital visits.
At times, all those things were stripped away -- and just to be able to walk down the block was an accomplishment. There were recoveries and sometimes just advil and bullish efforts.
It's good to be back in the surf and on the bike sometimes, neck/shoulder/arm pain notwithstanding.
My thoughts go out to all those Traineo members out there fighting their own health and spiritual battles...you know we are here in this small way.

I'm a raging Giants fan, and it was also my wife's birthday party, so this could have been a double-monster nosh-fest.
But an article the other day mentined how many cardiac incidents occurr during these big games, with excess food and drink playing an accomplice role, so I tried to keep a lid on it.
Breakfast -- a bowl of cereal, a half of a small, light cherry turnover,
bigole cup of expresso con leche.
Middle -- went for a run with dog for 35 minutes.
after - A caramel nut blast balance bar.
Lunch -- eeek -- A Whopper Jr. on the road to the animal preserve. a few scrounged fries and 2 onion rings. (Doggone it.)
Dinner -- one bottle of beer -- Fin du Monde from up Quebec way
A few nibbles of of vegetable samosa
Some vegetable masala dosai
A bit of Navaratan vegetable dish in yogurt almond cashew sauce
A few chunks of chicken tikka masala
Some Basmati rice
A few bits of Naan
A wee corner of Poori
A little eggplant beingan bharta
A small slice of birthday cake
Water
Watch Giants win
More water
Walk the dog again...
Dassit.

http://anotherfatguy.wordpress.com/ I'm looking at a total weight loss of over 130 lbs (60 kg for those of you in Europe like me...), from 150 kg to 90 kg (330 lbs to 198 lbs). I'm a 36 year old man and am REALLY tired of... well being tired.
So far I've been training like a mofo, and have totally revisited my diet - so far so good, 1/3 of my goal HAS been met - YIPPEE!!
Have met some great people here, and looking forward to meeting even more here on traineo - don't be afraid to bombard me with motivation - I'll take all you can give me :)
