Well the idea was brought up and was just curious who would be interested in listing to it. And if you are what would like to listen about?
Anyone please chime in with comments, questions suggestions.

I am 34 years old, married and a father of a 2.5 year old. They are the motivators for me to reach my goal. I started the new journey on 8/21/06 @307 lbs and as of June '08, I have lost around 108 lbs. I have been able to keep 100 lb weight loss since Sept. '07. What keeps me on track is the Traineo community, vision of a healthy and fit future and the mini-goals below. *GOAL 1 = 244 lbs, Date = 2/15/07 Date Met = 2/7/07 *GOAL 2 = 229 lbs, Date = 3/22/07 Date Met = 3/30/07 ________________________ *GOAL 3 = 199 lbs, Date = 6/30/08 Date Met = 6/5/08 *GOAL 4 = 185 lbs, Date = 09/30/08 Date Met = TBD (185 is my "ultimate" goal. Then build muscle.)
Hobbies/Interests: Baseball, White Sox, bowling, WII, Xbox 360, PSP, XM, Opie and Anthony radio show, Ron and Fez radio show, variety of music, working out, running.

Advice: - Set a Deadline: "A goal is a dream with a deadline - Napolean Hill." - Set Mini Goals - They help you accomplish small milestones on your way to the "ultimate" goal. - Track your progress. - Plan everything out. I would like to hear Ara get beat up by his girlfriend.
Maybe members calling in answering some questions and sharing some stories, tips, etc.

This sounds like a cool idea.
I think it would be great to hear from traineo members telling stories about successes, failures, tips, etc.
Maybe even a time for people to 'call in' or 'email in' questions that can be addressed in the podcast.

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

I'd be happy to host a question/answer session based on tech/scientific questions that people send in before hand... That would be fun and I'd get to dust off some old science & math books...

well, podcasts are free to host, right? let's figure out how to start one and brand it for traineo members... I'm sure traineo would be open to this, and if they had resources and time would be involved, but I don't know of many companies that have extra time these days!
We surely want this site to be successful, and as dedicated members we can add value without killing ourselves that would be helpful for us as well.

Podcasts take a lot of bandwidth to maintain. People downloading/streaming etc. I think I saw a place where we could host some for free.
I guess it would be best to ask dave o first because he knows a thing or two about podcasting.

Hey Guys...
Yeah, I was actually thinking of developing a show related to Traineo. A few things that would help make this a success would be....
1. Someone good with photoshop to get a logo going, so we have a nice presence in iTunes.
2. $$ to have the podcast feed hosted on a reliable server (libsyn.com). When I do zap120, I use a server that allows phone or mp3 files and it is totally free. This doesn't sit right with me. They could pull the plug any day. Also, skype (again, cha ching $$) would be good so we could get great sounding interviews with our overseas Traineo friends!!
3. Content and layout of the show
4. I have all music and sound effects necessary to have a professional sounding production...
5. People could record their own experiences (remember video is getting popular too/think recipe!) and email or upload to a server and I could add them to our "team" production.
6. Phone number where amybody could call and leave comments/stories (see 5 above) from the comfort of their phone and I could include them into the show. It will be a toll number, but will allow new comers to call and ask questions and be more interactive than the forum. It's always nice to put a voice to this cyber stuff.
7. Define frequency, purpose and our audience...
8. Blog or not to blog...??
Sounds like a great idea, but we need a defined program that will attract and KEEP the attention of people so it doesn't fizzle out.
I would be glad to be involved with this and am very flattered that you guys thought of me...
Ara, are you the project manager on this?

Success is not a race, be patient. Success leads to success. Success is always a work in progress. Success doesn't come to you--you go to it. Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process. Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying. Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED! If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

Quoting: zap120podcast Ara, are you the project manager on this?
I am nothing but an Idea.
Thanks for the feedback Dave O!
I would really be interested in getting this going.
Quoting: zap120podcast Someone good with photoshop to get a logo going, so we have a nice presence in iTunes.
I can get a logo going, I also have people resources if I am stuck or the logo isn't that great. Just need a name.
Quoting: zap120podcast $$ to have the podcast feed hosted on a reliable server
Money right noe is kind of tight but if we sat down and talked about this and skype and expenses it might be plausible.
Quoting: zap120podcast Content and layout of the show
Once again lets sit down and talk about it.
Quoting: zap120podcast Blog or not to blog...??
Blog defiantly blog. We can even do google adsense and get money for the hosting. I can register the domain and host it on my server.
As far as that let me know Dave O.

I'm hoping that Allistair (from Traineo) was reading this and he'd kick in the $$, maybe even help with graphics or helping us design one WITH the traineo artwork so you or Samantha could get some samples posted.
Quoting: Bruno43 defiantly blog
Are you defiant? Do you blog defiantly?
I can see about getting the voice mail line up and running.
Name?? I think that as many people that want to be involved should be and we could do this by vote. Name, content, etc. Also, any ideas about talking about this? postings might take forever to get this thing going...

At first I think we would need to get a blog going so we could have a little bit more control on votes and so we don't flood traineo forms with podcast nonsense. Yes spellcheck isn't my friend. I suck at spelling.
As far as if Traineo would be willing to foot the bill that would be great but like I said the ads would help with expense as well.

I'm a Co-Host of the Internet Radio Show and Podcast called "Fat 2 Fit Radio". I've struggled with my weight most of my life, but now my weight is fairly stable and I'm looking to finally get a 6-pack!

I have an existing podcast called Fat 2 Fit Radio. It is a weekly weight loss show that averages about 50 minutes in length.
We moved our community for our podcast to Traineo and created a Fat 2 Fit Radio group for our listeners a month ago.
If you are considering starting a regular, quality podcast you should be aware that it is a huge commitment. We have 2 hosts that work on the show and it is at least an 8 hour commitment each week from both of us, when you add in research, recording, editing, answering emails and comments on your blog and of course responding to your group members on Traineo!
If you are thinking of starting one, don't expect to get rich - or even cover your hosting if it takes off in popularity. Our reward for doing ours is simply all of the positive contact that we get from our listeners.

Oh I understand Jeff. Trust me I am not quitting my job. I just figured the ads would help pay for some of the expenses. I would like to do this for more motivation for the members at traineo.
So people can feel like they are getting questions or comments from real people instead of words on a screen. I just want people to have fun with it.

@Dave O - what sort of bandwidth and server requirements would you anticipate? I have a VPS and would be happy to host. Also, Skype is free so that shouldn't be any trouble. With your help identifying deliverables, I will volunteer to PM this.
@All - I suggest starting a weekly conversation via Skype to get this going. Evenings, after 7pm EST, or weekend mornings are best for me. Please consider how committed you would be to this project, and how much time you are reasonably able to provide on a consistent basis, every single week, for the foreseeable future; I don't want to exclude anyone but to be successful the core group should not be too unwieldy and should be available. (of course help from anyone and everyone is wonderful, but we're talking about the people that will be at every meeting and follow through with deliverables).
Potential Roles:
PM - I volunteer, but it doesn't have to be me
Blog Admin, perhaps also scribe for meetings
SME's - Dave O? Jeff?
Graphic Designer
Webmaster
Program Manager - Ara?
'radio' Personalities
Traineo Representative
Feel free to suggest more.
Okay, I will throw out a few potential times for a meeting -
Tomorrow, Sunday January 27, 11am EST, 1pm EST, 7pm EST, 8pm EST
Monday January 28, 7:30pm EST
If interested, please download and install/setup Skype, and I'll figure out how to setup a conference call.

We could start with your VPS first and see if it needs to get ported elsewhere in the future.
Check out talkshoe.com re: the call. Adam Tinkoff emailed me this link and encouraged us to move on. He's a podcast host from burning twenty and zen runner.
Sundays are best for me as during the week, my family doesn't even see me.
I can't do anything with graphics but great ears, audio and production are my specialty.
To trade emails, perhaps we should send messages to one person to compile a list who can then distribute. I'm afraid of posting on the forum and getting spammed forever. Ara, you should remove your email...forgot to let you know about this.

Good thinking, Dave - posting any personal info in the forums is a bad idea.
Please send your email address to me in a message here and I will create a distribution list for that.
I'm doing some research on hosting based on some information Dave O provided, so I will have that ready for the first meeting. From a preliminary perspective, it does appear that a specific podcast host is the best course of action, though the front end can be a blog, member hosted website, or perhaps even Traineo would be willing to provide a sub-domain (and we could discuss what we think about that as well).
Let's get this ball rolling

Not much to say, I like playing video games and watching/playing sports. I work as a web developer for a small company.
I think when I get into shape I want to become a volunteer firefighter.
Goal: Lose 35lbs before Cardio King

I'm not home this weekend so Monday would be best. Like I said I am a web developer with a semi design background. I have a web server I can host the blog and set it up with wordpress and can set up multiple accounts to be able to do certain things like post or edit or just write artical etc.
Also I would love to be one of the on air personalitys. I have a face for radio/podcasts haha

Another thought is Amy Mac has several podcasts. One of hers is video, and all are of great quality.
