I thought this article about what the NYC Board of Health wants to do was very interesting. I really do think that if this was more available at restaurants that people would make better choices when they are picking their meals.

I also wrote about it on my blog

Note: My plan is to at least write one entry to my blog on a weekly basis, so please stop by when you get a chance. Hopefully, you will find the information interesting.

I wish that every restaurant had to have available nutrition info on the web and in their restaurant. It would be soo much easier to make sure I am eating healthy if I didn't have to just guesstimate. Sometimes I really have no idea if I am even in the ball park. When I can just look and see that some dish has 2,000 Cal, for example, I know that I'm not going to eat it. I totally support the law and wish it would be applied in AL.

I agree Rachael. Sometimes I wish 2,000+ calorie meals were illegal. That sure is a lot of calories for one meal. I know I have done it before and I am sure I have done more than that and not even know it.

One thing that really helped me was using fitday for a couple months to track what I was eating - I now know how to estimate most foods. Not only that, but getting used to eating normal portions, I can order a salad, dinner, and dessert, because I know I'm packing at least half the dinner for lunch tomorrow.

I don't do it much, but I definitely don't stress about eating out anymore
