So I figured it was time that we talked about something genuinely off-topic in the off-topic forum.
Does anyone watch the TV show Lost? I've essentially tried to cut TV out of my life completely with this whole "healthy lifestyle" thing I'm trying, but this is one show I just can't give up. I've noticed that there are a lot of tech-savvy individuals on these forums (hey, we are all using an online weight-loss community), and quite a few podcasters, so I'm going to venture a guess that I'm not the only one out there who's addicted to the show or something similar.
Otherwise, what is your favorite TV show/video game /movie / whatever? I'd like to get to know everyone!

Lost OMG I cant wait for the new Season I use TV and Video Games as my reward. A few shows that I love are Family Guy, Mythbusters, Lost, Smallville, Supernatural and Rockstar(Supernova Though its ending next week). I also own a Tivo so that I watch TV around my schedule. Video games im into FFXI(Final Fantasy 11) and play WoW(World of Warcraft) on and off with a few friends. I just purchased my first home 2 months ago and well that has been taking most of my time and one of the reasons I fell off my Diet and Exercise routine. Ive since got my self back on track so life is good.

Hey thanks for your reply!
I'm super-psyched about the new season, too! It's gonna be great! I've also been trying to use TV and Video games as sort of a reward, and it's funny, after I got Tivo I started caring about TV less and less. It's like since it's on my schedule now, I realize I don't really want to watch much of it, anyway. But those are all great shows that I also watch.
Everyone on this site (ok, not everyone) seems to be into WoW. I've never played it. My video games of choice are Civilization IV, and Age of Empires (what can I say, I have a thing for global domination). I don't play many console games since my male roommates are always monopolizing the XBox, but when I get a chance I like Dance Dance Revolution - an awesome workout!
And great job with getting back on track with diet/exercise!

I am a contractor for a monolithic IT firm. This translates into a lot of time spent sitting. I have always been a big guy, but I am tired of being obese so I am going to utilize the power of community to hold my feet to the fire to stay active.

I have to confess I have never seen LOST! or any other show on TV for the past 36 months. I was however given a season of Scrubs and Firefly (Go Browncoats) on DVD and love them.
In the summer I spend most of my free time on my motorcycle ( '05 BMW K1200S - love having 167 HP at my finger tips). This winter (hey I live in North Dakota, you have to plan ahead for these things) I am going to try my hand at making soap. Also getting together with a friend to make fireworks for the 4th of July next year.
Otherwise it is a fair bet I am playing World of Warcraft (Server: Kael'Thas, lvl60 Shaman, 45 Druid, 44 Hunter, etc.). I have also found significant others seem to soak up a lot of time ... not that I am complaining
Quoting: kellelely Everyone on this site (ok, not everyone) seems to be into WoW.
WoW has an active subscriber base of 15 million people. So there is a decent chance you will run into us.
If I am not playing WoW, I am something of a real-time strategy whore. Then there is the Grand Theft Auto games on XBox.
Of course there is the Podcast as well.
After all that I got to admit I am a huge fan of sleeping

Lost = best TV since Twin Peaks.
We're just getting to the end of S2 in the UK, I'm jealous you guys are just about to kick off the new series. Remember, no spoilers please!

I have yo-yo'd between 14st and 19st for the last 8-9 years mainly due to sitting at a computer or travelling for work. Enough is enough though and I want to have a full winter season skiing and snowboarding followed by a summer of mountaineering and I need to lose weight and get fit to do it.
So, here I am. Publicly tracking my progress and giving myself the motivation to keep it up during the 'dark' days (of which I've not had any yet!). Prior to gaining this weight, I was fit and very outdoorsy and I want to get back to that without any further messing around.
My methods are old-school. I focus on LSD (long, slow, distance) training by walking hills with my dog and try to make sure I do this for at least 30 mins each day. At the same time, I watch my eating habits and do my best to avoid my biggest vice - sugar.
That's me for now...

I'm jealous that the US can get TV series from the itms! We still don't have access to that in the UK

My weight has gone up and down repeatedly in the last few years. I managed to lose a lot of weight before getting married 2 years ago, but have since gained most of it back.
I hope to find new motivation on this site, and hopefully make some new friends. This time I want to lose weight and keep it off. I'm trying to not think of it as a diet, but as a change in lifestyle.

Lost is by far my favorite thing on TV right now. 24 is also very good. I also have to admit that I'm a pretty big fan of Desperate Housewives. The Simpsons (now in its 18th season) is one of my all time favorites.
Quoting: Puchembo I was however given a season of Scrubs and Firefly (Go Browncoats) on DVD and love them.
Firefly was great. Too bad it was so short lived. Have you seen the movie Serenity? It basically wrapped up what they didn't finish in the TV series.

Lost is great, and they're bringing back Futurama, which is the best thing since sliced bread!

Hey Brandon, I've just finished watching the Firefly series, it was really, really enjoyable. It's a shame it got cancelled.
I'm looking forward to seeing Serenity now!
