I am using the Zone way of eating (www.drsears.com) to attain my target and increase my wellness.
I'm losing weight for my health, energy, and for my friend's wedding so no one mistakes me for Ms. Piggy's sister.

I've stopped weighing myself every day but something told me to weigh this morning after looking in the mirror. My scale said 179.8! I now weigh the same as my previous "fattest ever" weight back in college, but have nearly 20 lbs more muscle on my frame.
Honestly I am thrilled that I haven't gained weight the last few weeks. My friend's wedding over Memorial Day weekend has prompted several feasts.
As a side note - does anyone notice that your measurements are the smallest in the morning? Sometimes my waist measurement can change as much as 1/2" between early morning and evening. Maybe it's because of the food in the belly?

1) That's awesome.
2) Yes. I weigh myself in the morning and log it to see progress. Your body isn't bloated from food or liquid. By the time you wake up (hopefully) everything is digested and just about ready to... pass.
So, yes, you are at your lightest. But this also lends itself to the idea that this is your actual weight rather than your weight plus food.

that makes sense b/c you always weigh more later in the day or at night so your mesaurements could be more as well. also, it could be water weight or swelling if it is hot out too. just be consistent with your measurement times and then your meausrements will be accurate. if you always measure in the morning continue to do that or if you always measure in the evening do that.

I'm 42 and really need to shed some major weight. I'd love to do weight loss surgery or lap band but I'm just too scared to go under the knife. I don't exercise much cuz there's not a lot that I can do right now other than walk do water fitness class twice a week. I'm a former Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers (reaching goal as a preteen or teen - can't hardly remember that far back) and I'm currently in a TOPS group. I need that group support for accountability as I don't believe much in will-power anymore. I'm not a fan of veggies and fruit - which I'm trying to change. I can use all the motivation and prayers your can send my weigh (lol).

One Year 19 Lbs lost.
For December 07 to December 08 the job is to lose another 17 lbs.
-- Coming up for nearly a year of Traineo. 22 lbs lost, 13 to go!
What a year! I want to thank Traineo and it's members, and my doctors and friends, and gym, and my walking and running training partner -- my dog -- who all have have been a big part of my recovery from a bad case of pneumonia last August, from high blood pressure in May and June, and support through herniated cervical discs in July August and the present.
Somehow, its been possible to keep the faith and keep going through the neck and arm pain, but even on some of those bad pain days, getting the exercise at the gym, on a C25K run, on a bike ride, or in the surf helps make it bearable.
A year ago -- at least sports-wise, for life is altogether another thing -- I was losing my sense of identity as a surfer and windsurfer, gaining a sense of identity as a cyclist, a runner, 9 months later reentering the surf, losing my ability to ride ... things came and went between hospital visits.
At times, all those things were stripped away -- and just to be able to walk down the block was an accomplishment. There were recoveries and sometimes just advil and bullish efforts.
It's good to be back in the surf and on the bike sometimes, neck/shoulder/arm pain notwithstanding.
My thoughts go out to all those Traineo members out there fighting their own health and spiritual battles...you know we are here in this small way.

Yes, the body composition scales show I'm much less hydrated in the morning, and about 2 lbs less than in the evening, but as logn as you weigh in at around the same time of day, you'lll be able track the trend.

Married mother of two. I work aprox. 55 hours a week as a pump mechanic for commercial and military airplanes. Been fighting with my weight for years, achieved my "goal weight" three years ago, and a very high fitness level...but I've let it all slide...it's amazing how fast it goes....I feel like lately I"ve been borderline toying with a binge eating disorder and it disturbs me!!! I also just recently started college classes again in attempts to get my nursing degree....sooooooooooooo, I know it's a EXCUSE...but it's so hard to find the time to exercise!!!! I need to get back to my yoga...that really had a way of calming me down..much like eating after a long day calms me down...

I have been overweight all my life. I am not sure i can succeed at weight loss but am starting to get major warnings from the doctor that I may be forced to go on medications for high blood pressure and diabetes so that gave me the kick in the hienie i needed. I hate pills. I am hoping to achieve my goal weight by christmas 2009 but even if i am only a little more than half there i will be happy. Pic is of me at dad's funeral service not brave enough to sho my face yet but gives you a hint to my hugeness. It's hard to keep motivated with your body working against you:(
